Police are investigating the armed robbery of a Nambour Heights bottle shop that occurred last night.

Just before 6:30pm, a man entered the Mapleton Road store and threatened an employee with a knife before escaping with a sum of cash and alcohol.

The man was last seen running down Isabella Street, Nambour.   

The employee was not injured during the incident.

The man is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Straight Islander in appearance, 18-22-years-of-age and has a slim build.

He was seen wearing a red hooded jacket, a baseball cap, a dark bandana, knee length dark shorts and black and white running shoes.
