Police are appealing for public assistance after the robbery of a fast food restaurant in Sydney’s west this morning (Wednesday 14 September 2011).

Just before 1am, two men approached the ‘drive-thru’ window of the restaurant on Merrylands Road, Merrylands.

One man produced a firearm and threatened the attendant before taking cash.

Police were told the second man, who also had a firearm, stood nearby during the robbery, before both men ran down Merrylands Road.

Police from Rosehill Local Area Command attended the scene and were assisted by officers from the Police Dog Unit and the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

Officers were unable to locate the two men but carried out a forensic examination and canvassed the area.

They are now appealing for public assistance and ask anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about it to contact them.
