Police have charged a 33-year-old Mount Isa man with the armed robbery of a business on Marian Street The Gap (Mount Isa) this afternoon.
Just before 4pm a man allegedly in possession of a knife entered the Marian St business and made a demand for money from an employee. The man then handed the employee the knife and left the store empty handed.
A short time later the man allegedly returned to the business and made demands for the return of his knife. The employee refused to return it and the man again left the store.
The man allegedly again returned to the business and made demands for money, the employee refused and the man left the store empty handed.
Police located a man a short distance away where he was arrested without incident.
A 33-year-old Mount Isa has been charge with one count of armed robbery and is due to appear in the Mount Isa Magistrates Court on October 24.
No one was physically injured during these incidents.
