Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s west last night.

About 10.10pm yesterday (Thursday 27 October 2011), a man armed with a firearm entered a shop on Walters Road, Blacktown, threatening a 43-year-old woman, a 48-year-old man and a 12-year-old girl.

The man fled on foot with some property and an amount of cash and was last seen running west along Rutherford Street.

No shots were fired and no one was injured as a result of the incident.

Police attended the location a short time later where they established a crime scene, which was later examined by forensic specialists.

Police from Blacktown Local Area Command are investigating the robbery and are looking for a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He is described as being approximately 185cm tall with a thin build. At the time he was wearing a black hooded jumper, black long pants and a dark coloured balaclava.

The firearm used in the incident is described as being a small dark coloured pistol.
