November 7, 2011 – Assault/Robbery – Taxi Driver – Bilinga

 A 22-year-old man has been charged following police investigations into the alleged robbery of a taxi driver at Bilinga on October 22.

It will be alleged some time after 1.20am, the man has assaulted and robbed a taxi driver whilst the car was moving on Pacific Parade.

The taxi driver, a 30-year-old Southport man was reported to have sustained injuries which include grazing and contusions to his head.

The 22-year-old Bilambil Heights man has been charged with one count each of robbery, assault occasioning bodily harm, willful damage and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

He is expected to appear at the Southport Magistrates Court later today.
