Police are investigating the armed robbery of a liquor store in Sydney’s south-west.

About 6.30pm yesterday (Friday 2 December 2011), two men entered the store on Broughton Road, Old Guildford, armed with a machete and baseball bat. Their faces were covered with scarves.

The 51-year-old male staff member was approached by the men, who demanded money from the cash register.

The men took a small sum of money from the register, along with alcohol and cigarettes.

They then left the store, and were last seen on Whitaker Street possibly in a small blue vehicle.

Police were contacted and attended a short time later, establishing a crime scene.

Officers would like to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

The first man is described as being aged in his early 20’s, approximately 168cm tall and of a chubby build. He was wearing a light blue jumper, dark coloured tracksuit pants and backpack at the time of the incident.

The second man is described as being aged in his early 20’s, of a medium build, approximately 180cm tall and was wearing a light grey jumper and dark tracksuit at the time.
