Police are appealing for witnesses to an armed robbery in Clayton last night where a female shop assistant was stabbed in the arm.

Police have been told three male offenders entered the store in Centre Road just after 9pm.

The 24-year-old shop assistant from Clayton was alone in the store, when the offenders demanded she open the till and give them cash.

One offender has gone behind the counter and removed cash from the till, and the other offender has then leaned over the counter and stabbed the woman in the left arm requiring stitches. It is alleged both men were armed with knives.

All three offenders are aged in their late teens.

The first offender is described as Caucasian, approximately 178cm tall and of medium build.

He was wearing a dark blue hoodie with a white peaked cap underneath and shorts.

The second offender is approximately 190cm tall, solid build and has olive skin.

He was wearing a dark t-shirt with dark shorts, high cut runners and white cap. His face was covered with a white bandanna.

The third man is described as approximately 170cm tall, olive skin, solid build and short black hair.

He was wearing a dark t-shirt and dark shorts. His face was partially covered by a white scarf.

Police have release an image of two of the men who may be able to assist police with their inquiries.
