At 10:15pm on Saturday 28th January, 2012, two males have entered the gaming area of the Queens Head Hotel, North Hobart, one armed with a firearm. 

The males confronted a staff member and patron and whilst the armed male stood guard the other male removed a quantity of cash.

As the males left the hotel they were confronted by the licensee and staff members.  After a short struggle one male was detained whilst the other male fled West on Newdegate Street.

All monies taken have been recovered, along with the firearm.

A patron and two staff members required medical attention at the scene for injuries sustained.

A 34 year old man has been charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery and will appear in court later today.
