Two Sydney men have been injured in overnight glassing incidents at The Rocks and Glenwood.

About 11.45pm yesterday (Friday 10 February 2012), a 20-year-old man was walking home from a party on Crestview Drive at Glenwood, in Sydney’s north-west, when he was struck on the back of the head by an unknown person.

He was then stabbed a number of times in the lower back with a glass bottle.

The offender fled the scene and the victim managed to run some 50m to seek help from his friends.

Police from Quakers Hill Local Area Command and NSW Ambulance Paramedics responded to the incident.

The injured man was taken to Westmead Hospital where he is expected to undergo surgery this morning.

Inquiries to identify and locate his attacker are continuing.

Meanwhile, a British National has been charged over a glassing at The Rocks, in inner-Sydney.

The 22-year-old man is accused of striking another man in the head with an empty scotch glass during an altercation at an Argyle Street hotel about 11.15pm.

The victim, aged 30, was taken by paramedics to St Vincent’s Hospital for treatment of facial lacerations.

His alleged attacker was held by security officers until police from The Rocks LAC arrived.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged with reckless wounding before being conditionally bailed to appear in Downing Centre Local Court on Monday 5 March 2012.
