Police have charged a 16-year-old One Mile boy following an investigation into an armed robbery at Silkstone on Tuesday night.

It will be alleged the boy entered a Blackstone Road service station around 9.20pm and produced a knife.

The boy allegedly threatened a male console operator and made demands for money before fleeing with a sum of cash.

He has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, burglary and receiving tainted property and will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act 1992.
