Ipswich police are investigating the theft of a car from a man at Brassall overnight.

Around midnight a man armed with a metal bar approached a fast food store in a shopping centre on Pine Mountain Road and demanded the keys to a car from staff standing outside. 

As staff were attempting to get the keys to the car another driver returning to the store was confronted by the man.  The man demanded the keys to this car, threatening the driver with the metal bar.

After being given the keys the man then fled in the stolen vehicle.

No one was injured during the incident.

The vehicle is a gold 2001 Honda Civic bearing Queensland registration 179MAN.

The man is described as being of thin build with a fair complexion.  He was wearing a light coloured hooded jumper and black boardshorts.
