Police are appealing for information following the robbery of a take-away restaurant in Sydney’s south.
Just before 4am today (Friday 6 April 2012), two men entered the restaurant on the Princes Highway, Sylvania, demanding the store’s employees hand over cash.
The men emptied the cash registers and took money from a safe, before leaving the store on foot towards Formosa Street.
Witnesses have told police the men had a short conversation with the occupants of a grey Toyota Landcruiser, before running off towards the Princes Highway.
No one was injured during the robbery.
Police attended the scene a short time later, establishing a crime scene that was examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from Miranda Police Station are investigating the incident and wish to speak to anyone who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
The first man is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, about 185cm tall and of a large build. He was wearing a navy blue jumper at the time.
The second man is described as being of Middle Eastern/Mediterranean appearance, under 155cm tall, of a thin build, with a ‘rats tail’ hairstyle.
Both men had their faces covered at the time of the incident.
