Detectives are conducting inquiries after three men were allegedly ‘glassed’ at a popular Sydney nightspot.

A fight broke out between two groups of men on the first floor of the George Street hotel just before 1.30am today (Monday 9 April 2012).

Security staff intervened in the altercation and removed the men from the premises.

The men then became involved in another altercation during which a 28-year-old man was struck to the back of the head with a glass bottle.

He sustained lacerations to his head and neck and was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance Paramedics before being taken to St Vincent’s Hospital.

Two other men, aged 25 and 29, also received minor lacerations when the offender lashed out at them with the broken bottle.

Police from The Rocks Local Area Command were called to the scene and commenced inquiries.

They have spoken with a number of witnesses as they try to identify and track down those involved
