Police are seeking public assistance to identify a man in CCTV images who they believe may be able to help with inquiries into an attempted armed robbery at Eastwood last month.

About 5.50pm on Friday 31 March, 2012, a man entered a fashion store at an arcade in Rowe Street. He approached the employee and demanded cash after allegedly producing a knife.

The employee informed the man she did not have any cash and he left the store. He was last seen walking towards Progress Avenue, Eastwood.

Police were contacted and arrived a short time later and canvassed the area.

Investigators have appealed for assistance from the public to identify the man depicted in the CCTV images. He is described as being 40-50, Caucasian appearance with a tanned complexion. He is about 163cm tall with a medium build and has collar-length dark, curly hair.

He is shown in the images as wearing a dark-coloured hooded jacket and long pants.

As a result of the incident no one was injured.
