Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s south west.

About 11.45pm on Sunday 15th January 2012, a 19-year-old man was using an ATM on Canley Vale Road, Canley Heights, when he was approached by man who was armed with a knife and demanded money from him.

A struggle between the two ensued and the offender ran from the area with the victim’s mobile phone.

The offender was last seen running south along Derby Street, Canley Heights.

The victim suffered significant cuts to his arms as a result of the incident and was taken to Liverpool Hospital where he was treated for his injuries.

Police were notified of the incident and began investigations. They wish to speak to a man who they believe may be able to assist with their inquiries.

The man is described as being Asian in appearance, aged in his 20’s, about 175-180cm tall and of slim build. The man is described as wearing dark coloured jeans and dark grey “Adidas” brand hooded jacket and sneakers.
