Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a hotel in St. George early this morning.
At 2.37am (Friday 13 April), a male armed with a firearm attempted to enter a licensed premise on Banksia Avenue.
The man attempted to enter through the front door, which was locked. He commenced hitting and kicking the door while brandishing the firearm.
Inside the hotel were two employees and one patron.
No entry was gained and the man fled to a nearby waiting car. No one was injured during the incident.
Police from St. George Local Area Command were contacted and established a crime scene which was examined by officers from the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.
The man is described as 178cm tall with a small/medium build, wearing black clothing and black material covering his face.
