Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery in Mount Isa last night.
Around 10.15pm a man wearing a shirt wrapped around his head entered a bottle shop at Parkside. The man held a glass bottle in his hand and threatened a staff member before stealing money and alcohol.
He then fled on foot along Nineteenth Avenue. No one was physically injured during the incident.
Prior to this robbery, a disturbance occurred around 6.30pm at the same location and police believe a man driving a red commodore ute assisted the shop keeper at this time. Police would like to speak to this witness or anyone else who has information which may assist this investigation.
