Police have charged a 32-year-old South Townsville woman following investigations into two recent armed robberies at pharmacies in Townsville.
It will be alleged around 12.35pm on June 11 a woman entered an Aitkenvale pharmacy on Ross River Road and claimed to staff and customers that she was armed with a firearm.
The woman allegedly made threats before fleeing the scene with a bag of prescription medication.
It will further be alleged around 9.10am this morning a woman entered a pharmacy on Riverway Drive at Rasmussen and made claims to staff that she was armed with a firearm.
She allegedly demanded employees fill a bag with prescription medication before stealing it and a charity money tin and fleeing the scene.
No one was physically injured and no weapon was sighted during both incidents.
A 32-year-old woman was charged with two counts each of armed robbery, enter premises with intent and one count each of deprivation of liberty, supplying a dangerous drug and possessing a dangerous drug.
She is due to appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court tomorrow (June 21).
