Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a business that occurred earlier today in Oxley.

Initial information suggests that around 11am, a male has entered a Cook Street takeaway store in Oxley.

He left the store shortly after and returned around 11.25 armed with a knife.

He has made demands for cash from the attendant, but the attendant has not complied.

The male then left the shop and was last seen running towards Oxley Rail Station.

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 15-years-of-age and of a medium build.

He is described as having blonde hair and was last seen wearing a grey hooded jumper and was carrying a black backpack with a green stripe.

Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
