Police have charged a man over a series of convenience store robberies in Sydney’s west this year.
Officers from the Metropolitan Robbery Unit have been investigating the four armed robberies which occurred in April this year.
Convenience stores in Colyton, Minchinbury (x2) and Glendenning were targeted, with cash and cigarettes stolen.
On each occasion the convenience store employees were threatened with machetes.
Following an extensive investigation, detectives yesterday (Tuesday 7 August) raided a property on Waterlily Terrace in Bidwill and one on Hyatts Road at Oakhurst.
Police arrested an 18-year-old man at one home and recovered a machete, clothing and other items which will be forensically examined.
Officers interviewed the man at Mt Druitt Police Station and charged him with four counts of armed robbery.
He has been refused bail and will appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today.
