Police investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Chermside last night have released images of two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.

Around 11.20pm a man entered the Gympie Road store and asked for cigarettes.

As the shop attendant turned to get the cigarettes the man produced what is believed to be a firearm from underneath a jacket.

Another man then entered the store before both men left with cash and cigarettes.

The men drove off in a dark coloured late model sedan, possibly a Holden.

The first man is described as being aged in his late 30s, olive complexion, 175cm tall, wearing dark blue jeans, dark coloured hooded jumper and white sneakers. He was carrying a light coloured jacket.

The second man is described as Caucasian in appearance, wearing blue jeans, a red T-shirt under a dark hooded jumper with a white motif on the front, light brown coloured shoes and white gloves.
