Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a supermarket in Dingley tonight.
Investigators have been told that two men wearing hockey masks entered the supermarket on Centre Dandenong Road just after 7.30pm.
The men threatened staff members with a machete and made demands for money.
After receiving a quantity of cash and cigarettes they ran from the store.
They were last seen driving away in a dark blue Holden sedan or wagon.
No one was injured during the incident.
One man is described as being approximately 185cm tall with a medium build and is believed to have an Islander accent.
The other offender is described as about 180cm tall with a solid build.
Both men were wearing black hooded tops at the time of the armed robbery.
