Police are appealing for witnesses after a teenager staff member was threatened in an attempted armed robbery in Mooroolbark last night.
Detectives have been told that a man entered the convenience store located on Landscape Drive just after 6pm.
Investigators believe the offender was armed with a machete and carrying a bag.
The offender made threats to the teenager demanding cash before walking behind the counter and pushing the victim.
The offender fled empty handed towards Maroondah Highway.
The male victim was not injured.
The offender is described as Caucasian in appearance and aged in his 20s.
He was wearing a dark ‘hoodie’ jumper, dark trackpants and white shoes.
Investigators have released an image of a man that may assist with their enquiries.
