Police are appealing for information following the attempted armed robbery of a hotel bottle shop at Guildford overnight.
About 11.45pm (Saturday 22 September 2012), a man armed with a firearm entered the business on McCredie Road.
He threatened the male employee and demanded access to the safe.
The employee informed the man there was no safe; however, the man continued demanding to see it.
The employee turned his back on the offender and walked out of the shop and into the main bar area.
The offender fled the premises.
Police from Holroyd Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.
The man has been described as 180cm to 185cm tall with a medium build. He was wearing a balaclava, red t-shirt, light-coloured shorts and white shoes.
No-one was injured and no property was stolen.
