Detectives in Sydney’s west are conducting inquiries after a taxi driver was robbed by five armed men at Marsden Park.

About 8pm yesterday (Thursday 4 October 2012), the taxi driver received a booking to pick up four people from Marsden Park caravan park and take them to Parramatta.

The cabbie stopped the vehicle a short distance from the caravan park in Hollinsworth Road after spotting a man beside the road.

The man confirmed he had made the booking and asked the driver to wait for the other passengers.

A short time later, the taxi driver was confronted by four other men armed with firearms and knives.

They demanded the victim’s wallet, mobile phone and cash before fleeing the scene.

The victim was not hurt but left shaken by the ordeal.

Local detectives are conducting inquiries into the incident.

They’re appealing for anyone who witnessed the armed robbery or any suspicious activity in the vicinity of Hollinsworth Road, Marsden Park, overnight to come forward.
