Three men have been charged following alleged assaults at Mackay on the weekend.

Just before midnight on Saturday, a 57-year-old man left a nearby Bowls club and was walking along Kenzey Street when he was approached by two men who allegedly seriously assaulted him and stole his wallet and mobile phone.

The pair ran off leaving him with serious head and chest injuries.

At around 10.30pm on Sunday night, a 31-year-old was befriended by a group of men at a licensed premises on Malcomson Street.

The men left the venue and the group allegedly turned on the victim, knocking him to the ground and kicking him, before stealing his personal belongings and running off.

He suffered broken teeth and bruising to his face and head during the assault.

A 22-year-old North Mackay man has been charged with two counts each of fraud and robbery, one count of grievous bodily harm and one count of possession of a dangerous drug.

A 36-year-old North Mackay man has been charged with one count of robbery and one count of grievous bodily harm.

A 36-year-old North Mackay man has been charged with one count of robbery.

The three men are due to appear at Mackay Magistrates Court this morning.
