Police have charged a 23-year-old New Farm man with attempted armed robbery after an incident in Coorparoo this afternoon.
Around 3.50pm, the man entered the Cavendish Road store armed with a knife and demanded cash from the male employee.
The man left the store a short time later empty-handed.
He was later located by police.
He is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.
