Police are investigating a robbery that occurred at a supermarket in Upper Coomera yesterday afternoon.

Around 2.50pm, a man entered the Brygon Creek Road store and went into an office at the rear of the store. He made several attempts to open the safe, but was unsuccessful.

After entering the cold room and another office, the man has then approached the female employee at the counter and made demands for money.

The employee handed over a sum of cash and the man fled the store on foot.

The female employee was not physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 175cms tall, of an average build and approximately 30-years-old.

At the time of the offence, he was wearing a black baseball cap, black hooded jumper, blue jeans and tan coloured shoes.
