Police are on the hunt for an armed bandit who held up a Prahran petrol station during a daring daylight robbery last month.
The man entered the premises on the corner of Punt and Commercial roads just after 9am on 13 April and patiently waited in line until other customers had been served.
When he got to the front of the queue, the robber threatened the female staff member, demanding that she empty the till.
He gestured to his back pants pocket, indicating that he had a weapon and warning her “Don’t make me take it out.”
He stole a small amount of cash and left the store on foot, running in a northerly direction along Punt Road.
Detectives from the Prahran Embona Taskforce are investigating the incident and have released CCTV images of the man they wish to speak to as part of their enquiries.
The man is perceived to be Pacific Islander in appearance and aged between 20-25 years, with a thin athletic build, olive skin and short dark hair.
He was wearing a white Mossimo brand singlet top with the words “L.A” printed on the front and dark-coloured shorts.
