Police are investigating an armed robbery at a Harristown chemist this morning.

At around 9.00 am a woman entered the Drayton Road store armed with a metal bar and demanded cash.

The woman fled the store with a quantity of cash.

A 19-year-old woman was apprehended a short distance away in possession of cash and a metal bar and she is currently assisting police with their inquiries

Police are seeking any witnesses or dash-cam footage from anyone who was driving in that area at that time to contact police.

Police investigations are continuing.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a service station in Rockhampton early this morning.

Just before midnight, a man walked into the Gladstone Road business with what is believed to be a handgun and demanded money and goods.

He then left the address on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen on a street adjacent to the service station.

The man is described as Caucasian, approximately 175 centimetres tall, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, wearing a black beanie, black t-shirt and black pants.

He appeared to have felt pen markings on his face.

Anyone with information which may assist is asked to contact police.

A man has been arrested with the assistance of an off duty police officer and a member of the public following a robbery at West Lakes last night.

It will be alleged just before 11pm, Friday 1 February, a man armed with a machete threatened staff at a bottle shop on Bartley Terrace before walking behind the counter and stealing cash.

The victim received a minor injury during the incident, thankfully the injury did not require medical treatment.

As the suspect fled the bottle shop, he stole a woman’s handbag that was on the ground next to her.

The off duty police officer and the member of the public chased the suspect into the car park and detained him until patrols arrived.

Officers searched the man and he was found in possession of the stolen cash, and the stolen handbag was located close by.

An 18-year-old man from Largs Bay was charged with aggravated robbery and theft. He has been refused police bail and will appear in the Port Adelaide Magistrate Court on Monday.

Dandenong Crime Investigation Unit detectives arrested a 22-year-old man after he allegedly robbed two stores in Dandenong over the past 24 hours.

It is alleged the man, armed with a firearm, robbed a fast food outlet on Princes Highway about 9.20pm last night (6 February) and stole a small amount of cash.

The same man armed with a knife, attended a service station on Cheltenham Road about 6.40pm this evening.

He allegedly threatened the attendant and stole a small amount of cash before fleeing the scene.

Police arrested him nearby short time later.

The Dandenong man is currently in custody and expected to be charged with two counts of armed robbery.

Detectives from Portland Crime Investigation Unit have arrested a man this morning for an attempted armed robbery in Terang earlier this week.

It is alleged that a man attempted to commit an armed robbery at a supermarket on High Street, Terang on 5 February, threatening a victim with a weapon before demanding money.

The victim fought off the man before the man fled empty handed.

The victim was not injured in the incident.

Police executed a search warrant on a Pile Court, Portland address and arrested a 23-year-old Portland man for an attempted armed robbery, a police pursuit and numerous traffic offences.

The man is currently in custody and assisting investigators with their enquiries.

Melbourne Embona detectives are investigating a robbery in Richmond on 1 January.

About 11.15am a woman caught a taxi in Elizabeth Street, Richmond at which time she bit the taxi driver on the forearm and stole his mobile phone and cash.

The woman is perceived to be African in appearance, medium build, long black hair and wearing a green dress.

Police have released an image and CCTV footage of the woman who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Melbourne Embona Taskforce detectives are investigating two linked attempted armed robberies in Fairfield and Thomastown last month.

Three male offenders have smashed the glass doors of a service station on Austin Street in Fairfield about 11.30pm on Sunday 13 January.

The thieves have been spooked and run from the store empty-handed.

About 30 minutes later the same trio has struck again at a Thomastown kebab store on Mahoneys Road.

They have approached the male store member who was preparing the store for busniess the following day.

One of the offenders, wearing a balaclava, has lunged at the victim with a knife several times but luckily hasn’t hit him.

The victim has managed to push the offender from the store and the offenders have all fled.

They have fled in a waiting silver hatchback being driven by a fourth offender.

Detectives have released CCTV footage and images of three males they wish to speak to who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police have charged four teenage boys following an alleged armed robbery in Brunswick West last night (1 February).

It’s alleged the youths entered an Albion Street milk bar armed with a knife and baton about 7pm and demanded cigarettes.

Police arrested four boys in the area a short time later.

A 15-year-old Broadmeadows boy, 17-year-old Craigieburn boy, 17-year-old Westmeadows boy and 15-year-old Glenroy boy have each been charged with armed robbery.

The Broadmeadows boy was also charged with possess prohibited weapon.

All four will face a children’s court at a later date.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a licensed premises in Maroubra last night.

Just before 10pm (Wednesday 6 February 2019), a man armed with a large knife entered the hotel on Anzac Parade, threatened a staff member and demanded money.

He was given an amount of money before fleeing the scene. Nobody was injured.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

The man has been described as being approximately 188cm tall and with a large build, wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants, a face covering and steel-cap tan boots.

Inquiries continue.

Police have charged a man over an alleged attempted armed robbery at Darlinghurst at the weekend.

About 10.05pm on Saturday (2 February 2019), it’s alleged a man entered a convenience store on Oxford Street, Darlinghurst, before threatening the attendant with a knife and demanding cash.

The attendant, a 28-year-old man, was allegedly punched in the face before the man left the store empty-handed.

The injured man was treated at the scene for minor facial injuries, however, he did not require treatment.

Officers from Surry Hills Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, about 12.30pm today (Monday 4 February 2019), a 28-year-old man was arrested at a supermarket in a shopping centre on Broadway.

He was taken to Redfern Police Station and charged with robbery armed with an offensive weapon (attempted) and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The Botany man was refused bail to appear at Central Local Court tomorrow (Tuesday 5 February 2019).
