ACT Policing has arrested a 26-year-old Charnwood woman and an 18-year-old Aranda woman who allegedly robbed a taxi driver and assaulted police last night (Friday, November 11).
 
About 10.20pm, a taxi driver collected the women from the West Belconnen Leagues Club in Holt wanting to travel to the city.
 
During the trip, the 26-year-old woman, who was the front passenger in the taxi, allegedly began to remove a quantity of coins in the centre consol and an envelope containing a mobile phone. She then allegedly punched the cab driver on the arm and demanded his wallet or other money.

The taxi driver activated the emergency alarm to which police responded. Police attended Benjamin Way in Belconnen and arrested the two women involved in the incident.

During her arrest, the 26-year-old woman allegedly spat at an officer.
 
The 26-year-old woman was conveyed to the ACT Policing Watch House where she was charged with robbery and two counts of assault-related offences and expected to face the ACT magistrates Court today (Saturday, 12 November). The 18-year-old woman was interviewed and later released without charge.

 

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at The Statesman Hotel in Curtin last night (Friday, November 4).

About 10.30 pm a man entered the bottle shop attached to The Statesman Hotel and produced a large knife, demanding money from the staff member.

The staff member opened the cash register and allowed the offender to remove the cash drawer. The offender then ran from the shop with a sum of money.

The offender is described as being between 5’ 11” (180cm) and 6’ 3” (190cm) in height and of thin build. He was wearing dark-coloured long pants and a dark-coloured top. The offenders face was covered by a piece of clothing.

Police are appealing to the public for any information that may be able assist in their investigation into an aggravated robbery at the Coles Supermarket in Curtin last night (Wednesday, November 2).

Shortly after 10pm police were called to Coles Supermarket in Curtin after two men entered the store armed with a hand gun and a knife. One of the men jumped the counter and grabbed a sum of cash before both men left the store through a side exit near Curtin Place.
 
The first man is described as about 175 centimetres (5’9”) tall with a slim build. He was wearing black pants, a black overcoat, black top with a hood and a pale coloured mask with a pointed nose.

The second man is described as about 180 centimetres (6 foot) tall with an average build. He was wearing black coloured clothing, black gloves and a pale coloured mask with red hair.

ACT Policing is investigating an attempted aggravated robbery that occurred at the Pizza Hut store in Holt on Friday night (October 28).

Around 10.00pm, a man armed with a syringe entered the Pizza Hut store on Hardwick Crescent and approached the front counter. He threatened and demanded cash from an employee.

The employee refused to comply with the demands, and the man left the store. He was last seen driving away in a dark coloured Mitsubishi Magna towards Southern Cross Drive.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, 175cm (5’9”) tall, with a solid build. He was wearing a blue hooded top, black balaclava and tracksuit pants.

ACT Policing has released images of one of the offenders who committed an aggravated robbery at the Spar Express Supermarket, Ngunnawal on October 16.

A man and woman entered the supermarket about 8.30pm armed with a knife and syringe, and took a sum of cash after threatening staff.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, about 6’ (183cm) tall, of medium build with an Australian accent. He was wearing a dark coloured top and trousers with a dark coloured cap.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an aggravated robbery at the Spar Supermarket in Ngunnawal last night (Sunday, 23 October 2011).

Around 8.55pm three males approached the entrance to the Spar Supermarket in Jabanungga Avenue, Ngunnawal. The three males, who were carrying knives, threatened staff from outside the entrance to the supermarket, demanding money. Staff handed the offenders a small sum of cash before the three offenders fled the area on foot towards Yarrawonga Street.

The first male is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 18 and 20 years. He is approximately 165cm to 175cm tall, with a slim build and short, light brown, curly hair.
 
The second male is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 18 and 20 years, and about 185cm to 190cm tall. He has tanned skin, dark coloured hair, hazel coloured eyes and an average build.
 
The third male is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged between 18 and 20 years and approximately 180cm tall. He has tanned skin with a thin build.
 
All three males were wearing dark coloured clothing and concealed their faces with bandannas.

ACT Policing has arrested a 21-year-old Banks man following the aggravated robbery of a taxi driver last night (Sunday, October 23) in Canberra’s south.

About 6.00pm a taxi driver drove the alleged offender to an address in Gordon. When the taxi driver asked for payment for the fare, the alleged offender told the driver he was not going to pay and that he was in possession of a knife.

The victim then proceeded to drive to the Tuggeranong Police Station. During the drive to the station, the alleged offender held a knife to the victim and told him he was not going to pay for the fare.

The victim arrived at the Tuggeranong Police Station where the alleged offender was arrested. He was taken to the ACT Watch House and will appear before the ACT Magistrates Court this morning charged with aggravated robbery.

 

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to the aggravated robbery of a pizza delivery driver in Holt last night (Saturday, October 22).

About 9:20pm, a Crust pizza delivery driver had been called to an address on Southern Cross Drive, Holt (near the Holt neighbourhood ovals) to deliver an order. At the address, the delivery driver was approached by three men brandishing knives.

The three offenders were all described as approximately 180cm tall (5’11”), with thin builds and wearing dark-coloured clothing and balaclavas.

The delivery driver complied with the demands of the offenders and handed over a small sum of cash.

The offenders fled the area on foot towards the grassed area opposite the Holt neighbourhood ovals.

The victim was not harmed during the incident.

It appears the delivery order was a hoax, used to lure the driver to the area.

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an attempted aggravated robbery at the Duffy supermarket this afternoon (Saturday, October 22).

Around 2.45pm today, a man entered the supermarket and threatened staff with a knife.

He made demands for money but was rebuffed and the offender then ran from the premises empty-handed.

The offender is described as around 188cm (6’2”) tall, with a medium build. He is believed to be aged in his mid to late 20s. He was wearing dark pants, and a dark jumper with a white motif. He was disguised by a beanie and a bandanna over his face.

A man armed with a knife, and a woman suspected to be armed with a syringe, committed an aggravated robbery at the Spar Express Supermarket at Ngunnawal Shops last night (Sunday, October 16).

About 8.30 pm the pair entered the shop on Jabanungga Avenue, demanding money from the shop attendant. The shop attendant complied, handing over money from the cash registers.

The couple fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash. No one was injured during the robbery.

The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, between 23 to 29 years of age, about 6’ (183cm) tall, of medium build with an Australian accent. He was wearing a dark coloured top and trousers with a dark coloured cap.

The woman is described as having olive skin, aged between 20 to 27 years-old, about 6’ (183cm) tall, with an average build and an Australian accent. She was wearing a dark coloured, long sleeve jumper and dark pants.
