Crimes related to Convenience Stores

Police have released images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries in relation to an armed robbery that occurred overnight in Buderim.

Shortly after 11pm, a man entered a convenience store on Wises Road and produced a knife.

The man made demands for cash from the female attendant, who complied, and the man then fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.

The man is described as being around 175cms tall, Caucasian in appearance and had a slim build.
He was last seen wearing black shorts, a black hooded jumper, black shoes, dark work gloves and had his face covered.

Police are appealing to anyone who has any information which may be able to assist with their enquiries to contact them.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Eltham early this morning.

Investigators have been told two men attended the store on Sherbourne Road and used a hammer to force entry via the front locked door about 3.20am.

Both men had their faces covered and were both armed with hammers when they approached the attendant.

It is believed one of the offenders jumped the counter and stole cigarettes and cash.

The attendant was not injured and the pair then fled the scene.

The offenders are perceived to be African in appearance and were both wearing dark hooded jumpers.

Heidelberg Crime Investigation Unit detectives are investigating and are keen to speak to any witnesses.

Police have charged a man after he allegedly robbed a convenience store before breaking into a unit and crashing a stolen car at Emerton overnight.

Just before 5.30am (Saturday 2 January 2016), a man walked into a store on Popondetta Road allegedly armed with a piercing gun.

The man threatened an employee before fleeing with a number of items.

Police were alerted and officers from Mt Druitt Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A short time later, police were called to nearby Bunting Street where a man was being detained by residents.

It’s alleged the man had broken into a unit and then stole a vehicle before crashing it into three vehicles.

The 29-year-old was arrested and taken to Mt Druitt Hospital for blood and urine testing.

The man was then taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he was charged with robbery while armed with offensive weapon; aggravated break and enter and commit serious indictable offence; unlicensed driver; and not reverse vehicle safely.

He was bail refused to appear at Parramatta Bail Court tomorrow (Sunday 3 January 2016).

Mackay police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Andergrove last night.

Around 8.20pm a man confronted a staff member of the Celeber Drive store armed with a hammer before demanding he hand over cash from the till.

The man fled the scene after stealing a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

He is described as being Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander in appearance, aged in his 20s or 30s and wearing a black sleeveless shirt, maroon pants and had his face covered with a black bandana.

Fawkner Embona detectives are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Pascoe Vale early this morning.

Police have been told a man armed with a firearm attended a convenience store on Pascoe Street about 12.30am.

The bandit approached the attendant and made demands for cash.

A small amount of cash was handed over and the offender fled the scene.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He’s described as being in his mid-20s, short with a medium build and short brown hair.

At the time he was wearing black track suit pants, black and white shoes and a black hooded jumper with a white motif.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Heathwood this morning.

Around 9.10am a man wearing a motorcycle helmet entered the Parkwood Drive store before approaching an employee and ordering hot food.

When the female attendant proceeded to the counter with the hot food items, the man produced a firearm and demanded she handover cash from the till.

Another customer entered the store, prompting the man to grab the food and flee the scene.

The man is described as being about 180cm tall with a proportionate build and was wearing dark pants and a jacket and a black full-face helmet.

Police have released CCTV images of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries into the armed robbery of a convenience store at Bondi Junction.

About 4.40am on Saturday 14 November 2015, a man entered the shop on Bronte Road and threatened the attendant with a knife, demanding cash.

The attendant complied and the man ran from the store. No one was injured in the incident.

The matter was reported to officers from Eastern Suburbs Local Area Command.

As they continue to investigate the incident, they have released images of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The depicted man is possibly of Asian appearance, about 170-175cm tall, with a slim build. He is shown wearing a black long-sleeved jacket, dark pants, a dark beanie and carrying a dark coloured backpack.

Sunshine Coast Detectives have charged a 30-year-old man with five alleged armed robberies that occurred between 2013-2014 in the Sunshine Coast area.

Investigations led police to South Australia where the man was located and extradited back to Queensland to face charges.

Police will allege in all incidents the man pretended to be armed with a weapon and made demands for money.

The robberies are alleged to have taken place at a:
• convenience store on Nicklin Way, Warana January 24 2014;
• video store at Currimundi Market Place January 19 2014;
• grocery store on Beerburrum Street, Dicky Beach January 19, 2014;
• service station at Beerburrum Street Aroona on August 22 2013 and a
• fast food outlet on Bowman Road, Caloundra July 17, 2013

The man has been charged with five counts of armed robbery and is scheduled to reappear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court on December 14.

Police have released CCTV footage of a man they would like to speak to, following two armed robberies in South Hurstville in September and October, which may be linked.

About 12.50am on Tuesday 22 September 2015, a 20-year-old man was working at a convenience store on King Georges Road, when a man armed with a knife approached him, demanding money.

The armed man fled the scene, taking cash. The employee and witnesses were uninjured and contacted police.

Police attended and established a crime scene.

About 9.30pm on Thursday 8 October 2015, a 62-year-old woman and a man were in the process of closing a pharmacy on King Georges Road, when a man armed with a knife entered the store.

Police have been told the armed man demanded money, before fleeing the scene taking cash.

The two employees were uninjured and police were notified. A crime scene was established and investigations commenced.

Following inquiries, police attached to the Metropolitan Robbery Unit established Strike Force Shawn to investigate the two incidents, which investigators believe may be linked.

Strike Force Shawn detectives today have released footage of a man who may be able to assist with their investigations.

The man is depicted in the footage as wearing a dark hooded jumper/jacket, black tracksuit pants, white running shoes, and a dark-blue scarf covering his face.

Police are investigating after a Narangba convenience store was robbed last night by two men.

Around 8.10pm two men went to the Mains Street store. One man remained outside whilst the second man entered the store and approached the female attendant at the counter. He presented a bag and a handgun demanding money.

After taking cash the man has run from the store along with the first man who had remained outside.

No one was physically injured.

The man who entered the store is described as Caucasian, 182cm tall.

The man who remained outside was carrying a machete.
