ACT Policing is investigating an aggravated robbery which occurred in Hawker last night (Saturday, October 5).

About 9.45pm a man was withdrawing money from an Automatic Teller Machine (ATM) at the Hawker Shops when he was approached by a man with a knife.

The offender threatened the man and demanded cash. The man complied, giving the offender a sum of cash. The offender then fled on foot.

The offender is described as Middle Eastern in appearance and about 5’8” (170-175cm) tall. He was wearing a long sleeved blue shirt, white balaclava, gloves and dark pants.

Police are currently at the scene of an attempted aggravated robbery at Findon.

At about 1pm, a woman entered the National Australia Bank at the Findon Shopping Centre and demanded money.

Staff activated the security screens and no cash was handed over.

No one was injured during the incident.

The suspect is described as being Caucasian, about 45 years, with long blonde-grey hair and about 175cm tall.

She was wearing a grey top and dark pants.

Police believe this supect is also responsible for the attempted robbery at West Lakes a short time earlier.

Police are currently at the scene of an attempted aggravated robbery at West Lakes. At about 11.30am, a woman entered the Bank SA branch on Brebner Drive and demanded money, passing a note and bag to staff. Staff activated the security screens, and no cash was handed over. No one was injured during the incident. The woman then left the bank. She is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 50-60 years old, long blonde-grey hair, about 175cm tall, stocky build, and was carrying a walking cane. Police are investigating an armed robbery at the Bendigo Bank at Newton this morning. Just before 10.45am, a man wearing mask and armed with a tomahawk threatened staff at the Bendigo Bank on Montacute Road. He fled with cash as a pillion passenger on a waiting red motorcycle ridden by another man which was last seen travelling west on Montacute Road. Police have charged a 39-year-old Moe man over an armed robbery which occurred at a bank in Moe yesterday afternoon.
Jason Tansley faced an out of sessions hearing last night and was remanded in custody to appear at the Latrobe Magistrates’ Court later today.
He was charged with armed robbery and prohibited person possess firearm.

Police are appealing for information following an alleged robbery of a bank in Picton yesterday (Friday 20 September 2013).

About 3.30pm, police attached to Camden Local Area Command were called to a bank on Margaret Street following reports of a robbery.

Police have been told that a man entered the premise and demanded cash.

The man then allegedly fled the scene with a quantity of cash.

Investigators now wish to speak to a male described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 170cm tall, in his mid-20s, with an unshaven face and of large build.

He was seen wearing a baseball cap, dark sunglasses, a bright jumper, dark coloured shorts and work boots.

Police have established a crime scene following a bank robbery in Sydney’s CBD this morning.

About 11.15am (Friday 13 September 2013) a stolen black 4WD crashed into an ATM and surrounding wall outside of a bank on Kent Street, causing it to collapse.

Three men armed with sledgehammers then entered the bank through the opening and took money from the tellers.

They then made off in a blue Subaru sedan which was waiting outside with a driver.

No one was injured in the incident, however some employees were treated by Ambulance Paramedics for shock.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to come forward.

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to a robbery at a bank in Murdoch yesterday morning, and an aggravated armed robbery in Warnbro yesterday afternoon, Monday 2 September 2013. About 10:25am a man entered the bank located on South Street, and demanded cash from a staff member. The staff member complied with the demands and the man left with an amount of cash.

About 2:30pm police officers responding to an emergency  where it was established a woman had been assaulted by a person known to her stole her mobile phone. It will be alleged the woman was threatened with a knife, and received a stab wound to her shoulder A person of interest to both investigations was located at the Kwinana Train Station about 6:10pm and was taken into custody.

A 36 year old man from Murdoch has been charged with Robbery and Aggravated Armed Robbery. He was refused bail and will appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives have arrested and charged two men over a Western Sydney bank robbery last year during which a shot was fired.

About 2.45pm on Wednesday 6 June 2012, two men entered a bank in a shopping complex on the Prospect Highway at Seven Hills and allegedly threatened staff with a pistol and a sledgehammer.

A staff member activated the security screens, however, one of the men managed to get behind the counter and allegedly fired a shot into a wall.

An amount of cash was taken before the men fled in a Mercedes which had been stolen during an aggravated break and enter at Mosman in 2011.

As well as employees, a number of customers were in the bank at the time of the robbery. No-one was physically injured.

The Robbery and Serious Crime Squad have been investigating the incident and recently linked a firearm seized during another investigation to the robbery.

Yesterday (Tuesday 13 August 2013), detectives spoke to a 36-year-old man at Silverwater, charging him with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, and drive conveyance taken without consent of owner.

He remains in custody to appear at Central Local Court on Tuesday 17 September 2013.

A 37-year-old man was arrested at Bankstown Police Station and also charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon, larceny, and drive conveyance taken without consent of owner.

Her was refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Wednesday 14 August 2013).

Robbery and Serious Crime Squad detectives are continuing their inquiries.

Two men will front court today following an armed robbery at Woolloomooloo.

About 4.20am (Wednesday 7 August 2013), a 23-year-old man and 19-year-old woman were walking on Forbes Street to William Street when they were approached by two men.

One of the men allegedly produced a screwdriver and forced the 23-year-old to withdraw cash from an ATM, before they ran north down Forbes Street.

Police arrived at the scene and established a perimeter. A search of the area, with the assistance of a police dog, was unable to locate the men.

Officers from Kings Cross Local Area Command commenced an investigation into the incident and executed a search warrant at a home in Forbes Street, Woolloomooloo yesterday (Thursday 8 August 2013).

A number of items were seized and two men, aged 41 and 20, were arrested.

They were taken to Kings Cross Police Station where each man was charged with armed robbery with an offensive weapon and detaining a person in company.

The pair was refused bail and will appear before Central Local Court today (Friday 9 August 2013).
