Gold Coast detectives are investigating after a man armed with a knife stole cash from a Robina petrol station last night.
Around 10.30pm a man entered the Commerce Drive store and threatened a male employee before fleeing with a sum of cash.
No one was physically injured and police investigations are continuing.
Police are investigating reports of an attempted armed robbery at a service station on Junction Road in Karalee.
Initial investigations suggest that just before 9am a man entered the service station armed with a firearm.
When police arrived the man allegedly dropped the weapon and fled the scene on foot.
A cordon was established near the Warrego Highway where police conducted a search of the area which failed to locate the man.
Investigations are continuing.
34-year-old man has been charged following the alleged armed robbery of a service station in Bray Park last night.
Police will allege that around 11pm, a man entered a service station on Kensington Way armed with a gun and demanded money from the male shop attendant.
It is further alleged the man then fled the scene on foot with a sum of cash to a residence on Sovereign Avenue, where a stand-off has ensued after threats were made towards police.
Specialist police attended the scene and around 1.55am this morning the man voluntarily surrendered to police without further incident.
A 34-year-old Strathpine man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery and entering a premises with intent to commit an indictable offence.
The man was also charged with three counts of fraud and one count each of burglary, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and possessing tainted property. These charges were unrelated to the alleged armed robbery.
He is due to appear in the Pine Rivers Magistrates Court today.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at On The Run Service Station on Bridge Road, Para Hills overnight.
At about 1.30am, a man entered the Bridge Road service station, threatened the staff member with a hatchet and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect ran off with cash and cigarettes and was last seen running north on Bridge Road. No one was physically injured.
Patrols conducted an extensive search of the area but were unable to locate the suspect.
The suspect is described as a man of Caucasian appearance, approximately 180cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing a balaclava, dark coloured jacket and dark track pants.
The photo was obtained from CCTV and although the suspect’s face is not shown, it depicts the suspects clothing and build.

Detectives from Strike Force Vega have charged a 44-year-old man in relation to a number of armed robberies in Alice Springs earlier this year.
Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said Police allege the armed offender entered a service station in Sadadeen on 25 January and threated the attendant before fleeing with cigarettes and quantity of cash.
“Police allege the armed offender attended a second service station on the Stuart Highway on 27 January and threatened the attendant before fleeing with cigarettes and cash.
“It is alleged the armed offender entered a business in Alice Springs CBD on 6 February and threaten the receptionist. There was no cash on the premises and he fled the scene empty handed.
“Detectives from Strike Force Vega executed a search warrant at a residence in Hidden Valley Camp on Tuesday and arrested the 44-year-old man.
He was charged with:
Aggravated robbery (x2)
Aggravated assault (x2)
Assault with intent to steal armed with a weapon
Going armed in public
Attempt to commit a crime
Breach of bail
He will appear in Alice Spring Magistrates Court today.
Police are appealing for information after an armed robbery at a service station on the state’s Central Coast overnight.
About 11.40pm on Thursday 26 February 2015 two males entered a service station on The Entrance Road at Forresters Beach.
The first offender who was armed with a hammer approached the counter and demanded money from the operator.
A second offender, who was armed with a machete, stood the near the door.
The employee handed over a quantity of cash and both men fled north along The Entrance Road.
Fortunately the male employee was not injured during the robbery.
Police from Brisbane Water Local Area Command attended along with a police dog which searched the area without success.
Officers have now appealed to the public for information about two men who may be able to assist with their investigation.
The first man was 183cm tall and wore a hooded jumper over his head with black gloves, black track pants and white running shoes. He was armed with a hammer.
The second man wore a beige hooded jumper over his face, black gloves, beige track pants and white running shoes. He was armed with a machete.

Just after 7pm (Wednesday 25 February 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a service station on Cobra Street and threatened a staff member, demanding money.
The 19-year-old attendant complied with the man’s demands, and handed over cash. She was not injured during the incident.
The armed man was last seen walking south on Fitzroy Street.
Officers attached to Orana Local Area Command are investigating the incident and would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance in his mid 30’s. He was last seen wearing a blue hooded jumper with a ‘Bulldogs’ motif across the front, and sunglasses.
A man armed with a handgun fled empty handed after a failed armed robbery of a Beenleigh service station this morning.
Around 1.15am the man entered the City Road business, threatening a 19-year-old man, an employee of the business, and demanding cash.
The man fled after the employee refused to hand over any cash and retreated to a back room.
The man is described as Caucasian, aged in his early to mid 20s, approximately 183cms tall with a thin build and brown hair.
No one was physically injured and investigations by Logan detectives are continuing.
ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an armed robbery which occurred in Calwell on Sunday night (February 15).
About 9pm a male entered the Woolworths Petrol service station at the Calwell Shopping Centre, where he threatened a console operator with a large knife before fleeing with a sum of cash.
Shortly before this, around 8.50pm, a man was seen acting suspiciously around the McDonalds and Woolworths Petrol station at the Lanyon Marketplace in Conder.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in his 20s, with a skinny build. He was wearing a blue jumper with a grey hood, black tracksuit pants and carrying a black bumbag.
Police believe the man fled on foot to a waiting car, parked nearby in Roope Close, Calwell.
