Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Maroochydore this morning.

Around 6.30am, a man attended a takeaway store on Aerodrome Road, Maroochydoore and attempted to jemmy open a vehicle in the staff car park with a knife but has been unsuccessful.

A short time later a male staff member was opening the store when the man has produced a firearm and entered the store.

He made demands for cash and the employee has complied.

The man has then fled the scene with a sum of cash.

The man is described as Pacific Islander in appearance, between 30 to 40-years-old, 170 cm tall with brown eyes and a mole on his right cheek near his eye. He spoke with a New Zealand accent.

The man was wearing long black pants, a hooded black jacket, red bandana, black beanie, black gloves and carrying a black back pack.

Investigations are continuing.

Sturt Police are investigating an attempted aggravated robbery at Black Forest, where a pizza shop staff member was assaulted.

Just after 7.30pm, police were called to the Amigo’s Pizzeria on South Road after a male staff member was hit in the head with a pole, after a man had demanded his wallet while the staff member was walking outside the store.

Nothing was stolen, and the staff member suffered minor head injuries.

The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his late 20s to early 30s, about 180cm tall, slim build, brown/blonde goatee style beard, and was wearing a black beanie, cream-coloured shirt, and a Nike black jacket and pants. He was last seen running east away from the store.

Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred at a takeaway store in Quakers Hill overnight that’s left a female employee with a laceration to her head and hand.

About 8pm (Monday 6 June 2016) a 50-year-old woman was working at a takeaway store on Douglas Road and was out the back of the store cleaning when two men entered.

One of the pair approached the woman and assaulted her with a metal pole or bat, striking her in the head and the hand, causing large lacerations, while the second man stole cash from the till.

Both men ran from the store prior to the arrival of police.

The woman was taken to hospital where she remains in a stable condition and is expected to undergo surgery.

A crime scene was established while detectives from Quakers Hill Local Area Command commenced an investigation.

Police are investigating following an armed robbery at Maroubra Junction overnight.

Just before 12am (Saturday 4 June 2016), police responded to reports of an armed robbery at a fast-food restaurant on Anzac Parade.

Police were told a man entered the store and approached a staff member. He produced a knife and demanded cash from a safe.

The staff member complied with the demand.

The man then ran from the store with an amount of cash and was last seen running north along Anzac Parade.

Police from Eastern Beaches Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene which was forensically examined.

Detectives investigating the incident would like to speak with a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged between 35 and 40, with brown eyes.

The man was last seen wearing black tracksuit pants, a dark-grey coloured hooded top, grey beanie, and dark-coloured running shoes.

Police are investigating after a man attempted to rob a take away restaurant in Tanah Merah last night.

At around 7.40pm a man entered the Tansey Drive establishment, armed with what appeared to be a handgun.

He demanded money from a female attendant and leaned forward to reach for the cash register, however the woman struck him to the arm with a milk crate while calling for assistance.

A man working in the restaurant came to the woman’s aid and the offender fled on foot along Tansey Drive towards Drews Road.

The man is described as Caucasian, 175-180 centimetres tall with a slim build. He was wearing a black and grey jacket and has his face covered.

No money was taken and no one was physically injured during the incident.

At 6.30pm on Wednesday 1 June 2016, two armed offenders entered the Cambridge Kitchen at 971 Cambridge Road, Cambridge. They have demanded cash and cigarettes from the female staff members.  The two male offenders had their faces covered with white masks and were wearing white protective coveralls.  Both men left the shop with a quantity of cash and cigarettes. The offenders got into a blue Holden sedan and were last observed travelling at speed on Richmond Road towards Richmond.

 

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery in Salisbury, where a shop assistant was threatened by a man with a knife who stole cash from the store and ran away.

Just before 4pm, police were called to the Barnacle Bill’s restaurant on Commercial Road after reports that a man had entered the store and demanded money.

He fled with an amount of cash, and no one was injured.

The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his mid 30s and was wearing a yellow hooded jumper and beanie, dark sunglasses, dark-coloured tracksuit pants and sneakers. He was last seen running north towards Salisbury Highway.

Police are appealing for witnesses after the armed robbery of a delivery driver in Grafton last night.

About 8.10pm (Tuesday 10 May 2016), a 24-year-old man was delivering a food order to a home on Bacon Street, when he was confronted by two unknown males armed with machetes.

The males demanded money and the food.

The delivery driver complied, and the males ran away with cash and the food on Bacon Street, towards the Clarence River.

Officers from Coffs/Clarence Local Area Command were notified and attended the location.

A canvass of the surrounding area was conducted but no one was located.

As inquiries continue, police would like to speak to two males who may be able to assist them.

The first male is described as being of Caucasian appearance with dark curly hair. He was last seen wearing a maroon jumper, black t-shirt with a white motif and shorts.

 

The second male is not further described.

Detectives have charged a man following three alleged armed robberies in Toowoomba yesterday evening.

Police will allege at around 6:30pm a man armed with a knife entered a takeaway business on the corner of West and Campbell Street in Newtown.

It will be alleged the man demanded money from a male staff member and fled the scene on foot with a small sum of cash.

It will be further alleged at 10.15pm a man entered a hotel on Bridge Street in Newtown where he demanded money from a female staff member.

The staff member refused and the man left the premises on foot.

At 10:30pm police will allege a man entered a pizza shop on Taylor Street armed with a knife and demanded money from an employee.

When the employee refused the man left the shop on foot.

No one was physically injured in any of the three incidents.

At around midnight patrols located a man on Herries Street in Toowoomba where he was taken into custody without incident.

A 22-year-old Toowoomba man has been charged with one count of armed robbery and two counts of attempted armed robbery.

He is due to appear in Toowoomba Magistrates Court on May 3.

Police have arrested a 41-year-old Queensland man in relation to alleged armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery which occurred in Reservoir and Ivanhoe last month.

The alleged incidents occurred at businesses on the Broadway in Reservoir on 17 April, Gilbert Road in Reservoir on 24 April and Waterdale Road in Ivanhoe on 22 April.

Investigators allege the man was also involved in an attempted armed robbery at a restaurant in McLeans Road, Bundoora earlier today.

The man was spotted by a member of the public riding a motorcycle on Bell Street around 12.30pm today and followed to a car park where police were called.

It is alleged that on police arrival the man attempted to ride off but was stopped by the member of the public and police.

He was arrested and has been charged with armed robbery, attempted armed robbery, firearms offences and weapons offences.

The 41-year-old has been remanded to appear at the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.
