Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast-food restaurant at Smithfield last night.

About 6:50pm, Saturday 22 February 2014, a man entered the restaurant on the Cumberland Highway where he jumped the counter and threatened staff with a screwdriver.

He was handed cash and fled in a stolen white Ford Laser which was found abandoned in Little Street after being involved in a collision with a parked car.

Police from Fairfield Local Area Command and the Dog Unit conducted a search of Little Street and the surrounding area but were unable to locate the man.

A crime scene was established at the restaurant and examined by specialist forensic officers while the Ford Laser was seized for forensic examination.

Detectives are continuing their investigations into the robbery and are looking for a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, 180cm tall with a slim build, aged in his 40s with slight facial stubble.

He was wearing a black round brimmed hat, a grey zip-up hooded jumper, shiny grey track pants and black shoes.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a fast-food restaurant at Ashfield last night.

About 7pm, Friday 21 February 2014, a man entered the fast-food restaurant on Parramatta Road before making his way behind the counter.

The man, who was armed with a handgun, threatened a member of staff and demanded cash.

He was handed cash from the safe and fled the scene.

No shots were fired during the robbery and no staff members injured.

Police were called to the scene and conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Dog Unit but were unable to locate the armed man.

Detectives from Ashfield Local Area Command are continuing investigations into the robbery and are looking for a man who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, 35-45 years old, 178cm tall with a medium build and wearing black sunglasses, a red hat, a blue jacket, blue pants and white runners.

Police have released still images of two men they are seeking in relation to the armed robbery of a pizza shop at Slacks Creek on Wednesday night February 19, 2014.

At 11.10pm, two men entered the pizza shop on Kingston Road, produced a knife and made demands for cash.

The employee has complied and handed the men a sum of cash before the men fled the scene on foot.

No one was injured as a result of the robbery.

The first man is described as being Caucasian in appearance and was around 170cms tall.

The second man is described as being Caucasian in appearance and was around 160cms tall.

Both men are believed to be in their early 20s.

Investigations into the incident are continuing.

Police are investigating following an armed robbery that occurred last night in Slacks Creek.

A man has been charged over the alleged attempted armed robbery of a takeaway shop at Tanilba Bay earlier in the week.

About 9:30pm on Wednesday 12 February 2014, a man entered the takeaway shop on President Wilson Walk while wearing a balaclava.

He allegedly threatened a woman with a machete, however, she ran out of the shop and the man fled the scene empty-handed.

Police were called to the scene and conducted a search of the area with the assistance of the Dog Unit, however, were unable to locate the man.

Detectives from Port Stephens Local Area Command continued investigations into the robbery which led them to a house in Tanilba Bay yesterday morning (Thursday 13 February 2014).

A 19-year-old man was arrested at the premises and taken to Raymond Terrace Police Station where he was charged with assault with intent to rob while armed with offensive weapon and granted conditional bail to appear in Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday 24 March 2014.

Police have released a comfit of a man who may be able to assist police with their investigations into an armed robbery of a take-away store on Sylvan Drive at MooreParkBeach on Sunday.

The man is described as approximately 180cm tall with a solid build, dark bushy eyebrows and a prominent scar on the top of his left hand. and was wearing a ring on his left ring finger.

The man has also been described as having strong body odour and at the time of the robbery was wearing a ring on his left ring finger and was not wearing any shoes.

Police are urging anyone who may recognise the man to contact Bundaberg Police or Crimestoppers.

Police are investigating an armed robbery of a Sylvan Drive business in MooreParkBeach today.

Around 1.30pm a man armed with a knife entered the take away business and demanded money from the 44-year-old female owner.

The man fled with cash from the store and down an alley.

The woman was not physically injured.

Police investigations continue.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a pizza shop that occurred at Bargara last night.

Around 9.20pm, a man entered the Whalley Street store armed with a large knife and approached the counter.

The man made threats and demanded cash from the store employee, who complied with the man’s demands and handed over a sum of cash.

The man fled the store on foot before getting in to a blue coloured sedan that was parked a short distance away.

The vehicle was last seen turning on to Bargara Road.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

 

Police are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery in Bendigo overnight.

It’s believed a man wearing a white jumpsuit and balaclava has entered through the rear of a restaurant on High Street just after 10pm.

The man has produced a firearm and made demands to the staff for money before leaving on foot with a quantity of cash heading toward Rosalind Park.

Police have since recovered the jumpsuit and balaclava which were discarded.

Around 5:35am on Tuesday 11th February 2014, the shop assistant at the “Top of Chapel” Takeaway store 108 Chapel Street, Glenorchy has been approached after opening and disarming the store by a male offender, brandishing a machete.

The offender has threatened the shop assistant with the machete before stealing a large amount of cigarettes and cash and fleeing in the shop assistants 1990 blue Mitsubishi Star wagon Registration : C15ZZ.

This vehicle was later recovered in Hudson Crescent, Glenorchy.

Nobody was physically harmed in the Robbery.

The offender is described as: 181cm tall, with broad shoulders and a medium build, he spoke with a hard voice and was wearing black full length overalls with a zip up front, the overalls had a hood which was over the offenders head and he wore a dusk mask or similar over his face, he was wearing black boots and had yellow washing up gloves over his hands.
