South West Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into an armed robbery in Withers last night, Tuesday 6 November 2012.

At about 8:50pm, three men entered the Chicken Treat store located at the Minninup Forum shopping centre.

Their heads were covered by hooded tops and their faces covered with balaclavas or bandanas. Two of the offenders were armed with knives and they threatened staff,

demanding money. The third offender guarded the front door. The offenders stole a sum of cash from the till before running from the store in the direction of

Hudson Road. The offenders are described as being aged between 20 and 30 with fair skin. One offender was tall with a slim build while the other two were shorter and of medium to solid build.

A 20-year-old Heatherton man has been charged after attempting to rob a fast food store in Mulgrave early this morning.
He has been charged with three counts of armed robbery.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear in front of the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.

Detectives are investigating the armed robbery of a take-away food outlet in Bowen overnight.

Around 9.05pm, a man entered the Herbert Street store and threatened the two staff members with a knife while making demands for money.

The staff members handed over a sum of cash to the man before he fled.

Neither staff member was physically injured.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a sandwich shop in Mackay overnight.

Around 9.45pm, a man has entered the business on Nebo Road and produced a knife.

He has threatened two female staff members, and has left the shop with a sum of cash that he took from the till.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, between 170 and 175cms tall, of a solid build and had short blonde hair.

He was last seen wearing a red jumper with the word ‘Dickie: on the chest in white writing, black tracksuit pants and white running shoes.

Police investigations are continuing.

A man has been charged following the alleged attempted robbery of a fast food restaurant in Mareeba last night.

Around 10.15pm a man walked behind the counter of the Byrnes Street restaurant and allegedly grabbed the 16-year-old male attendant by the back of his neck.

The man then made demands for cash.

The attendant escaped the man’s grip before staff and members of the public managed to restrain him until police arrived.

The attendant was not physically injured during this incident.

A 29-year-old Mareeba man has been charged with one count of attempted robbery and remains in custody until his scheduled appearance before the Mareeba Magistrates Court on November 5.

Police are investigating after the armed robbery of a pizza shop at Narangba last night.

At around 9.40pm a man entered the Young Road store armed with a handgun and threatened two staff, demanding cash.

The man fled the store with a sum of cash.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as around 180cm tall and of a stocky build. He was wearing a black balaclava, dark jeans, boots, jacket and gloves.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are investigating the link between two overnight armed robberies at Lutwyche and Wooloowin.

Around 8.15pm a woman entered a Lutwyche Road restaurant and walked behind the service counter where she threatened a female staff member with a knife.

The staff member called for assistance and the chef came out and told the woman to leave. The woman left on foot empty handed and was seen to cross Lutwyche Road into Chalk Street.

The woman was described as Caucasian in appearance, mid 30s with a stocky build, wearing a blue and white coloured striped polo shirt and blue jeans with a white towel wrapped around her head.

Around 8.55pm a woman entered a Lisson Grove convenience store carrying a black coloured back pack while holding a white towel over her face.

The woman approached the female attendant and produced a needle and syringe and demanded money.

The woman fled on foot with a sum of cash and was last seen heading towards Hudson Road.

The description of the woman was similar to that of the earlier incident. She was further described as having shoulder length brown hair.

No one was injured in either incident.

Police are investigating the overnight armed robberies of a food outlet at Wishart and an ice creamery at Camp Hill.

Around 9.00pm a woman entered the Newnham Road food outlet and threatened the female attendant with what appeared to be a blood-filled syringe. The woman fled on foot with a sum of cash.

Around 9.30pm a woman entered the Boundary Road ice creamery and threatened two female attendants with what appeared to be a blood-filled syringe. The woman fled of foot with a sum of cash across Boundary Road towards Whites Hill.

No one was injured during the robberies.

The woman in both incidents is described as Caucasian in appearance, aged in her late 20s, 165cms tall, with a slim build, fair complexion and blonde hair.

During the first incident the woman was wearing a blue or grey cap, a pink t-shirt with a black design on the front, short denim shorts with the cuffs rolled up and sandals.

In the second incident the woman was wearing a yellow cap, a grey hooded jumper and black long pants.

ACT Policing has arrested a 19-year-old Phillip woman who allegedly robbed a woman at the Kippax Fair Shopping Centre yesterday afternoon (Sunday, October 21).

Around 5.25pm two woman were sitting outside a restaurant eating dinner when they were approached by three women.

One of the offenders grabbed the victim’s bag off the seat next to her and attempted to run off with it.

The victim’s friend got up from the table and pursued the offender who turned around and threw the bag back at her.

A second woman has approached the victim’s friend and pushed her to the ground twice before striking her in the face. The assaulted victim did not require any medical treatment.

Police later located three women matching the description of the offenders and arrested them before being taken to Belconnen Police Station.

The 19-year-old woman was charged with one count of robbery. The other women are assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are investigating an aggravated robbery at West Richmond today.

At about 3.50pm, a man armed with a knife entered the Subway restaurant on Richmond Road and demanded money.

He fled with an amount of cash, and was last seen walking north on Brooker Terrace.

No one was injured during the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, slim build, black curly hair, wearing a grey baseball cap, grey jacket and black pants.
