Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery of a takeaway business in Landsborough late yesterday.
Around 9.30pm a man entered the Mill Street takeaway store and on approaching reception, produced a large knife and demanded cash.
The employee behind the counter grabbed her mobile phone and proceeded to film the man, resulting in him running from the store.
Nothing was stolen during the incident and no one was injured.
The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, aged in his teens with a thick build.
At the time of the offence, he was wearing a red checked long-sleeved shirt, baseball cap and a handkerchief covering his face.
ACT Policing arrested a 19-year-old man yesterday (Saturday, November 17) for a robbery which occurred in Weston in late October.
Police will allege the man was in company with another man when he entered the Kingsley’s Chicken store in Weston around 9.20pm on Wednesday, October 31.
One was armed with a machete and both had their faces covered. It will be alleged that the offenders stole a sum of cash and fled in a green Subaru Liberty sedan which had been reported stolen from Greenway earlier that day.
Police located some suspects around 30 minutes after the robbery and took them into custody, but released them pending further investigations. The stolen car was located in Chapman and police located several items, including the stolen cash drawer from the chicken shop, nearby. These items were seized as evidence.
A warrant was later executed on a Rivett home and a search of the premises found a machete hidden in a dog kennel.
Yesterday (November 17, 2012), the 19-year-old man attended Tuggeranong Police Station, was subsequently interviewed, arrested and conveyed to the ACT Watch House. He will face the ACT Magistrates Court tomorrow (Monday, November 19).
Investigations into the robbery remain ongoing.
Police are investigating after the attempted armed robbery of a Redbank Plains restaurant last night.
Around 9.10pm two men approached the Kruger Parade restaurant with one remaining outside while the second entered.
The second man then confronted the staff member, striking a counter with what appeared to be a hammer and demanded money.
The male staff member has produced a metal bar causing the man to flee the restaurant empty handed. Both men have then run off.
Both men are described as being approximately 170cm tall, of skinny build and were wearing all black clothing.
The 41-year-old staff member was not physically harmed during the incident.
Police have charged a 21-year-old man following investigations into two armed robberies that occurred in Mackay earlier this month.
It will be alleged around 9.45pm on November 3, a man entered a sandwich shop on Nebo Road and threatened two female employees with a knife before fleeing with a sum of cash from the register.
The employees were not physically injured during the robbery.
It is further alleged around 8.30pm on November 6, a man entered an Ooralea supermarket on the Peak Downs Highway and threatened a female employee before fleeing with a sum of cash from the register.
The 22-year-old woman received minor injuries to her arm from the knife, but did not require medical treatment.
A 21-year-old Townsville man has been charged with three counts of deprivation of liberty, two counts of armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence, and one count of burglary.
He will appear in the Townsville Magistrates Court this afternoon.
Police have released images of two men they wish to speak to in relation to two burglaries that occurred at Eden Rise earlier this month.
The first incident happened on 6 November when two men broke into the Eden Rise Donut King shop and stole a cash box.
The burglary occurred at 1.15am when the men broke into the shop after forcing the front door.
The second incident happened on the 7 November when the same two men broke into the Eden Rise Pharmacy and stole a quantity of medication.
The pharmacy burglary happened just after midnight with the men gaining entry via the front door.
Investigators believe that the men may be driving a VE SS Commodore utility.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to eight attempted armed robbery and armed robbery incidents in the last six weeks in the South Metropolitan
and Central Metropolitan districts.
Detectives had been investigating the following eight incidents: – 8 October 2012 – About 8:30pm man entered a supermarket in Mount Pleasant armed
with what appeared to be a blood filled syringe and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash.
– 13 October 2012 – About 10:35am a man entered a bottle shop in Mount Pleasant armed with a knife and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash.
– 16 October 2012 – About 8:45am a man entered a service station in Bullcreek armed with a knife and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash in a Toyota Hilux.
– 21 October 2012 – About 6:50pm a man entered a fast food restaurant in Melville armed with a knife and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash.
– 23 October 2012 – About 9:55pm a man entered a service station in Myaree armed with a knife and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash.
– 25 October 2012 – About 6:20am a man entered a service station in Attadale armed with a knife. When one staff member called out to another to call police the man fled
the scene empty handed.
– 25 October 2012 – About 7:30pm a man approached a service station in Peppermint Grove armed with a knife. The doors to service station were locked and the staff
member saw the knife and refused to open the doors. The man fled the scene empty handed.
– 27 October 2012 – About 8:10pm a man entered a fast food restaurant in Ardross armed with a knife and demanded cash. He left with an amount of cash.
With the assistance of the Regional Operations Group, Fremantle Detectives, Murdoch Detectives, South Metropolitan District Crime Team and district intelligence officers, Regional
Investigations Unit detectives yesterday located and arrested a 27 year old Leeming man.
The man has since been charged with six counts of Armed Robbery and two counts of Attempted Armed Robbery, and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday

South West Detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery incident in Withers on Tuesday 6 November 2012.
About 8:50pm three men arrived at the Chicken Treat store located at the Minninup Forum Shopping Centre in Withers. All three men were wearing balaclavas. Two of the men, who
were armed with knives, entered the store while the third remained at the entrance door.
The two men threatened two staff members and demanded they open the cash tills. The staff complied with the request and three men left with an amount of cash.
As part of the ongoing investigation South West Detectives travelled to Harvey and arrested a local 18 year old man, who has since been charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery. He
will appear in the Bunbury Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 14 November 2012.
On Monday 12 November 2012 officers from Glenorchy CIB arrested and charged a 38 year old male from Claremont with the Armed Robbery at KFC Claremont that occurred on 3 November 2012.
The male will appear in the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.

A 20-year-old Heatherton man has been charged after attempting to rob a fast food store in Mulgrave early this morning.
He has been charged with three counts of armed robbery.
He has been remanded in custody and will appear in front of the Melbourne Magistrates Court this morning.
