Armed Crime Squad detectives have charged a 31-year-old man following two armed robberies at the same licensed premises in Ararat over the past two months.

The Melton West man was charged with two counts of armed robbery.

He was remanded in custody to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

It’s alleged the incidents occurred at a High Street business on 21 October and 18 November.

A 33-year-old woman was also charged with possess drug of dependence and was bailed to appear at Sunshine Magistrates’ Court on 26 March 2019.

Police have released vision of a man they wish to speak with in relation to the attempted armed robbery of Mount Warren Park shop on Sunday night.

Around 8.50pm, a man entered the business on Mount Warren Boulevard armed with a knife and demanded money from a staff member.

The armed man then approached a second person inside the store demanding a sum of cash.

Both victims refused to hand over money and the man fled on foot.

He was last seen wearing a black balaclava, black jumper and holding a large knife.

Anyone who may have dashcam footage of the area at the time of the incident – or who may have witnessed any suspicious behaviour – is urged to contact police.

Police are investigating an armed robbery incident that occurred at Kingston this afternoon.

At about 12.30pm, three men and a woman entered a business on Yalumba Street.

When a staff member confronted the woman in relation to stealing items from the store, one of the men produced a knife and threatened the staff member.

The three men and the woman fled the business a short time later on foot with a number of items of property taken from the store.

No one was injured during the incident.

Investigations are continuing.

Police have charged a man following an alleged armed robbery in Cairns North this afternoon.

It will be alleged around 4:40pm a man entered a medical centre on Sheridan Street armed with knife.

Police will further allege the man demanded a doctor fill out a medical script before fleeing to a nearby pharmacy to obtain the pharmaceuticals.

Officers commenced patrols of the area and a man was taken into custody at the intersection of Lily Street and Sheridan Street just after 6pm.

A 38-year-old Bungalow man has been charged with one count each of armed robbery, fraud, unlawful possession of a weapon (Category M) and possessing dangerous drugs.

He is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court on November 7.

A woman has been arrested following a series of four robberies on shops and service stations in the northern suburbs over the last four weeks.

Police will allege between Friday 28 September and Thursday 25 October, the woman stole grocery items from shops and service stations and when approached by store security or staff members, produced a syringe and threatened that person.

  • 28 September – supermarket at Parabanks Salisbury
  • 8 October – variety shop at Hollywood Plaza Salisbury Downs
  • 24 October – service station Commercial Road Salisbury
  • 25 October – service station Salisbury Highway Salisbury

The suspect also allegedly threatened a store security officer with a syringe at a  supermarket at Hollywood Plaza on 11 September.

Last night on Friday 26 October, Detectives from Northern District CIB investigating the crime series, located and arrested the woman after she was identified from store CCTV vision.

The 24-year-old woman of no fixed place was charged four counts of aggravated robbery and one count of aggravated assault.  She has been refused  police bail and will appear in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Monday 29 October.

There were no physical injuries to any person during any of the robberies.

Police are investigating after a convenience store was robbed by two men armed with a machete in Nerang this morning.

At around 4.30am the men entered the shop on Price Street, one of them standing at the door while the other approached a 21-year-old male store attendant, produced a machete and demanded money.

The attendant went behind the counter while the man brought a large black bag for him to put cash and cigarettes into.

The two men then fled the scene with the bag containing money and cigarettes.

The men are described as aged between 17 and 25-years-old, one of them wearing a camouflage hooded jumper, black knee-length shorts, black and white sneakers and was holding an umbrella.

The second man was wearing a light grey hooded jumper with “Everlast” written in large black letters down the right hand side, black shorts and was carrying a machete.

Anyone who may have further information is urged to contact police.

 

Police investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west have arrested a man on the lower north shore this morning.

About 12.45am yesterday (Friday 12 October 2018), emergency services were called to a business on Christina Road, Villawood, following reports of an armed robbery.

A man, allegedly armed with a firearm, threatened an employee before stealing cash.

No one was injured.

Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, investigators, with the assistance of officers from Ryde Police Area Command, arrested a 41-year-old man at a home on Cambridge Street, Gladesville, about 10am today (Saturday 13 October 2018).

The man was taken to Royal North Shore Hospital where he remains under police guard.

Inquiries continue.

Police are investigating after an armed robbery at Alexandria.

Just after 12am today (Saturday 13 October 2018), officers from Redfern Police Area Command were called to a business on Mitchell Road after reports of an armed robbery.

Police were told two staff members were threatened by a group of men, who stole cash before fleeing on foot.

During the incident, a male staff member was assaulted. He was taken to St Vincent’s Hospital to be treated for head injuries.

Police established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Two of the men are described as being of Pacific Islander/Maori appearance. One man is about 193cm tall, with a large build, and was last seen wearing a red hooded-jacket, baseball cap, and black pants. Another was last seen wearing a grey beanie.

The other men are described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 183cm tall. One was last seen wearing a hooded-jumper.

Police are at the scene of an aggravated robbery in Smithfield, where two men have threatened staff at an electronics store.

About 4.15pm on Wednesday, 10 October, two men entered the store on Main North Road and threatened staff members, before stealing items including several pairs of headphones and running away from the scene. One of the men was armed with a hammer.

No one was injured.

Police are at the scene of an aggravated robbery in Smithfield, where two men have threatened staff at an electronics store.

About 4.15pm on Wednesday, 10 October, two men entered the store on Main North Road and threatened staff members, before stealing items including several pairs of headphones and running away from the scene. One of the men was armed with a hammer.
