Police are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery at a shop in Chipping Norton last night.
About 7.20pm (Friday 16 May 2014), the owner, of a newsagency on Governor Macquarie Drive was closing up when a man entered the store.
The man threatened the 57-year-old owner with a shortened rifle and demanded cash. The owner yelled at the man and attempted to stop him getting to the register.
The man hit the owner with the butt of the firearm, before he ran from the shop empty handed.
The offender returned and attempted to enter the shop again, but was unable to get in, so ran away.
Police were contacted and Liverpool Local Area Command and forensic specialist officers attended and seized several items.
The 57-year-old was taken to hospital for a cut to his forehead and a hand injury.
The man was described as Mediterranean/Middle Eastern, aged in 30’s, he was wearing dark tracksuit pants and a light grey hooded sweatshirt.
Police are investigating after a book store was robbed in Alderley overnight.
Initial information suggests that at around 8.25pm, a man has entered the book shop onEnoggera Road and produced a knife.
He made demands for cash, and the attendant has complied and handed him a sum of cash.
The man then fled the scene of foot and was last seen heading south on Enoggera Road.
The attendant wasn’t physically injured as a result of the robbery.
Police are searching for a man who is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 25-years-old, around 170cms tall and of a slim build.
He was last seen wearing a grey trench coat, a grey beanie and was wearing sunglasses.
Investigations continue.
Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Casula yesterday.
About 5.30pm (Wednesday 7 May 2014), a man armed with a knife entered a back door of a furniture store on The Crossroads and threatened a 26-year-old man, demanding his mobile phone.
The man then entered the front section of the store and approached a 49-year-old man and two women, aged 38 and 46.
He demanded mobile phones, keys and cash from the trio.
The man then fled the scene with cash and mobile phones. No one was injured during the incident.
Officers from Liverpool Local Area Command were called and established a crime scene.
As detectives continue their investigations, they would like to speak to a man who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.

About 7.30pm (Wednesday 7 May 2014), a 27-year-old woman working in a newsagency on Crystal Street was approached by two men armed with a knife, who demanded money.
The men ran from the store a short time later with cash.
The woman was uninjured during the incident.
Officers from Redfern Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene.
As they continue their investigations, they would like to speak to two men who may be able to assist them with their inquiries.
One man is described as being of medium build, 175-180cm tall, and was seen wearing a white hooded jumper with a logo on the front, a white handkerchief covering his face, and dark baggy trousers.
The second man is described as being of medium build, 175-180cm tall, and was seen wearing a black hooded zip-up jacket, a dark handkerchief coving his face, light coloured shorts and white shoes.
Police are appealing for information from the public following an armed robbery in Burwood overnight.
About 7.45pm (Monday 28 April 2014), two men – one armed with a box cutter – entered a vitamin shop on Burwood Road.
The men threatened a 27-year-old female sales assistant before grabbing cash from the register and running from the shop.
They were last seen running west on George Street, Burwood.
No-one was injured during the incident.
Police from Burwood Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which has been examined by forensic officers.
Detectives have started an investigation into the robbery, and are appealing for information from the public about two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
One man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 18 to 20 years old and 180cm tall. He had a slim build, and short blond/brown hair.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 18 to 20 years old and 180cm tall. He had an average build, and short brown hair.
A man has been charged following police investigations into a robbery at Gladstone on April 7.
It will be alleged a man entered a shop on Mellefont Street around 10.20pm and threatened the attendant with a hand gun demanding cash.

Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a business at Springwood yesterday have released images of a person who may be able to assist with the investigation.


The robbery occurred around 3pm yesterday with a man threatening two female staff members with a knife and forcing them to tie each other up before he escaped with cash.
The man is described as Caucasian, 173cm tall and average build. He was wearing an orange hi-vis shirt, jeans, a black cap and gloves.
In the first image it appears the man is wearing the orange hi-vis shirt over a yellow and maroon shirt, possibly a football jersey.
Detectives are investigating after a business at Springwood was robbed this afternoon.
A man entered the Cinderella Drive shop after 3pm and confronted a female staff member with a knife demanding money.
A second female staff member was also confronted by the man who again demanded money which was provided.
The man then forced the women to tie each other up before he ran off.
Neither woman was physically harmed during the incident.

Around 1.10pm a man entered the Hume Street business threatening the female shop assistant with a knife and demanding money.
After taking cash the man ran from the business.
The shop assistant, 21, was not physically harmed during the incident.
The man is described as Caucasian, 165cm tall, of slim build and was wearing a white hooded jumper, dark coloured trousers and white shoes. His face was obscured by cloth.
A man has been charged following the attempted armed robbery of a business at Greenslopes this morning.
It will be alleged around 1.45am a man entered the Logan Road business, grabbed a male worker and presented a knife demanding money.
A second male worker intervened and a struggle ensued before the man ran off empty handed.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
Police located and arrested a man nearby a short time later.
A 23-year-old New South Wales man has been charged with attempted armed robbery and enter premises with intent to commit indictable offence. He is expected to appear at the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.
