Police are investigating the armed robbery of a mechanic shop in Kingsgrove last night. About 8.10pm (Saturday 12 October 2013), a 48-year-old man was closing the mechanic shop on Kingsgrove Road, when he was approached from behind by a man who threatened him with a firearm. The man demanded and was given an amount of cash. He then fled and was last seen running west along Brocklehurst Lane. Police from St George Local Area Command attended and commenced an investigation. A crime scene was established at the location and examined by detectives. The man was described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, 35-40 year of age, about 175cm tall, muscular build, wearing a red t-shirt, blue cargo pants, dark shoes and sunglasses. Investigators are appealing for any witnesses to the incident to contact police.

A woman has been charged following investigations into the alleged armed robbery of a fast food delivery driver at Christine Avenue, Miami on the evening of October 7.

An 18-year-old Southport woman has been charged with armed robbery and an unrelated stealing matter. She is to appear at the Southport Magistrates court tomorrow (October 9).

Police are investigating after a fast food delivery driver was robbed at Christine Avenue, Miami last night.

Around 9pm the male driver was attempting to deliver food when he was approached by a woman armed with a knife who demanded his phone and money.

After taking the phone and an amount of cash the woman has walked off.

The driver was not physically injured.

The woman is described as Caucasian in appearance, 170cm tall, of heavy build with blonde hair. She was wearing a black hooded jumper.

Police are investigating an attempted armed robbery at a business in Rocklea this morning.

At 4.20am, a 54-year-old man, who resides at the Marshall Road business, woke to find two men standing over him in his bedroom.

One man threatened him with a knife and demanded money before assaulting him.

The pair was last seen heading towards Beaudesert Road.

The victim was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with a facial injury.

Investigations are continuing.

Detectives at Whittlesea Crime Investigation Unit are investigating an armed robbery at a business in Thomastown on Tuesday night.
Three males entered the Trawalla Avenue premises armed with a shotgun and an iron bar just before 11pm.
One of the men stood as look out at the front door while the two other men entered reception and threatened a female staff member with the firearm.
The men ransacked the front counter then fled on foot with the cash register containing a small amount of cash.
The offenders were all wearing hooded tops and had their faces covered.
No shots were fired during the incident and no one was injured.

Detectives have been kept busy this weekend after the same armed bandit committed three robberies in the space of 12 hours.
At 11.30pm on Saturday night the rampage began when he targeted an adult sex shop on the Maroondah Highway in Ringwood.
The bandit entered the store, walked around for a short time then left.
Moments later he returned and threatened the staff member with a knife before running off with a sum of cash.
The next venue to be targeted was a drive-thru bottle shop on Lower Heidelberg Road in Heidelberg.
At 11.45pm the offender approached the two sales assistants armed with a knife and again made demands for them to open the till.
Within seconds the offender was off again with the evening’s cash takings.
Not satisfied with his nightshift takings, on Sunday morning he attended a gaming venue on High Street in Thornbury.
Around 10.50am he made his way to the cashier where he grabbed her by the waist.
Armed with his knife, he began making demands for cash. The attendant complied and he was off again with an amount of cash.
Neither of the shop assistants, nor the gaming attendant were injured in the robberies.
The offender is perceived to be of Southern European or Indian appearance and aged about 20 – 25 years. He is approximately 180cms tall and had a mole above his upper lip. Police have also been told he spoke with a lisp and may possibly have a speech impediment.
Police have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police are investigating after a man tried to rob a bakery in the state’s south at gunpoint.

About 11.50pm on Friday (4 October 2013), a man was working at a bakery on Cooper Street, Cootamundra when a man entered through the back door.

Officers have been told the man, who had his face concealed, threatened the baker with a gun and demanded money, but left a short time later empty-handed.

No one was injured during the incident.

Police from Cootamundra Local Area Command were contacted and secured a crime scene that was examined by forensic specialists

The man has been described as being about 175cm tall, with a thin build, and was wearing a black coloured jumper at the time.

Police have charged a man following investigations into the armed robbery of an adult store at Burleigh Waters on September 28.

The 36-year-old Labrador man has been charged with one count of armed robbery.

He is due to appear in the Maroochydore Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Police are investigating the armed robbery of an Annerley cake shop this evening.

Around 6.45pm, a man armed with a wooden implement entered the Ipswich Road store, approached the employee at the counter, and made demands for cash.

The employee handed over a sum of cash from the register and the man left the store on foot.

No-one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being approximately 180cm tall, with a slim build, black hair, and a dark moustache.

At the time of the offence, he was wearing a long-sleeved white shirt, dark blue jeans, and a dark akubra hat. He was also carrying a dark coloured back pack.

Investigations are continuing.

Police are investigating after the armed robbery of an adult store at Burleigh Waters last night.

Around 10.40pm a man entered the Reedy Creek Road business armed with a knife, threatening the male attendant and demanding money.

The man then went to the till, placing the knife on the counter. The attendant took possession of the knife but then became involved in a struggle with the man.

The man struck the attendant with the till drawer before taking cash and running from the store.

He was last seen driving off in a white utility, turning west on Reedy Creek Service Road.

The attendant received some grazes to his arms during the incident.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, 178cm tall and of solid build. He was wearing dark coloured clothing and a black balaclava.

The utility is described as a white Holden Commodore.
