Melbourne Embona Armed Robbery Taskforce detectives have arrested two men and a woman following two armed robberies and an attempted armed robbery that occurred within 5 minutes of each other in Fitzroy around 5.05am today.

The attempted armed robbery occurred on Brunswick Street and involved two male victims.

The first armed robbery also occurred on Brunswick Street, where a man’s skateboard was allegedly stolen and then handed back.

The second armed robbery occurred near Brunswick Street, where the male victim was skateboarding with two others and his skateboard stolen.

Police are appealing for the victim of the second armed robbery to come forward.

Police arrested a 26-year-old Preston man, a 23-year-old man from no fixed address and a 21-year-old woman from Reservoir a short time later and they are currently assisting police with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted armed robbery at a service station in Kew on Wednesday.

Investigators have been told a man entered the Willsmere Road store as a member of staff was mopping the floors just before 2am.

The man was wearing a pair of skins shorts over his face and holding a hand gun and demanded the staff member stop what he was doing.

The staff member said to the man he did not believe the weapon was real and refused to comply.

The man then left the store in a green Hyundai or similar and was last seen heading west on Earl Street.

Two other people are believed to have been in the car, one driving and the other in the back seat.

The offender is perceived to be of African appearance, 173cm tall with a thin build.

He was wearing a black windcheater with a Chicago Bulls logo on the front, black tracksuit pants with three white stripes down the side and white runners with an orange sole.

Police have released images and CCTV of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery at a convenience store in Port Melbourne last Friday.

Investigators have been told a man entered the Bay Street store brandishing a box cutter around 8.20pm, demanding cash.

The bandit fled with an amount of cash south east down Raglan Street.

The man is described as being Caucasian, in his early 20s, approximately 170cm tall, medium build with dark coloured hair and neatly trimmed side burns.

He was wearing a white zip-up hooded jacket, grey track suit pants, a baseball cap with a black and red tartan peak and orange boots with a clear sole.

Police are investigating following an armed robbery in Lower Plenty last night.

Banyule Crime Investigation Unit detectives have been told a female staff member was closing up at a Main Road fast food outlet at around 8.35pm when a man armed with a baseball bat entered the store.

The thief demanded cash and made off with an undisclosed amount.

Police have released a series of images of a man they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

He is described as being in his 20s, with olive skin, wearing a black hooded top, black pants, white socks and black shoes.

The shoes have light markings on the outside of the soles.

Detectives at Fawkner Embona Taskforce are appealing for witnesses following an armed robbery at a milk bar in Fawkner on Sunday.

Police have been told a man entered the milk bar on Tyson Street and made demands for money just before midday.

It is believed the offender produced a knife and jumped over the counter when the attendant threw a chair at him.

The bandit attempted to open the till but was unsuccessful.

He grabbed cigarettes before fleeing the scene.

The offender is perceived to be of African appearance and aged 16-18 years old.

He was wearing dark sunglasses, a white hooded jumper with the word “Deluxe” on the front, black tracksuit pants, gloves and carrying a black backpack.

Investigators have released images of a man that may be able to assist with their enquiries.

Police have arrested a man following an armed robbery in Balaclava this morning.

The alarm was raised after a man entered a Carlisle Street convenience store, allegedly armed with a firearm, just before 7am.

Uniform police patrolling the area arrested the man in a nearby laneway.

The man, aged in his mid twenties, is currently assisting Prahran armed robbery taskforce detectives with their enquiries.

Members from Fawkner Embona have arrested a Carlton man regarding a series of armed robberies.

The ten armed robberies took place at bottle shops and motels across the northern suburbs between December 2013 and this month.

Thomas Bufete has been charged with ten counts of armed robbery and a range of offences relating to a pursuit which occurred between Taylors Lakes and Brunswick yesterday.

The 22-year-old has been remanded to appear in Melbourne Magistrates’ Court today.

Police arrested the 23-year-old at a house in Frankston this afternoon.

The Frankston man was interviewed and charged with three counts of armed robbery.

Mark Roberts faced an out of session’s court hearing this evening and has been remanded in custody.

He will appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Police are appealing for public assistance following an attempted armed robbery at a postal outlet in West Footscray earlier this month.

A man entered the store on Sunshine Road around 5pm on Thursday 3 April.

Holding a knife and a plastic bag, he approached the store manager and made a demand for cash.

The staff member has refused and activated an alarm.

The man then left the store without any money and ran east towards Aliwal Street near the Tottenham Railway Station.

No one was injured during the incident and detectives from Altona North Embona Taskforce are now investigating.

The man is described as being between 20-30 years of age and perceived to be of Caucasian appearance with short light brown hair.

He has scabs on his cheeks and chin and red marks where it looked like he had picked or scratched his face.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a black hooded jumper with a white Everlast logo and dark coloured pants.

Investigators have released CCTV images of a man they wish to speak to in relation to the incident.
