Regional Investigations Unit officers are investigating two robberies on the same chemist in Shelley believed to be carried out by the same offender.
The latest robbery occurred yesterday (12 October) at around 11.20am. The man entered the Chemmart Pharmacy located in the Shelley Hub Shopping Centre and approached the pharmacist at the front counter.
He then walked around the counter, and demanded that the safe be opened. He obtained a quantity of drugs before running from the store through the front car park.
This incident followed the first which occurred on 7 September 2011. At around 11.55am the man entered the same pharmacy and demanded drugs from the female pharmacist, while holding a Stanley knife.
While the man was taking drugs from the safe, the pharmacist escaped the store leaving him alone for a few minutes. He removed a quantity of medication and escaped from the store.
The man is described as being between 20 – 25 years of age, 184cm tall, of a slim build, and with shoulder length straight brown/blonde hair.
In the first robbery, he was wearing a black jacket, with dark blue jeans, a red shirt and dark shoes. He was wearing similar clothing in the second robbery.
Kalgoorlie Detectives have charged a 16 year old youth after an incident on Saturday 8 October, 2011 in Boulder.
Police will allege that about 8.40pm, the youth – armed with a knife, entered a service station on Lionel Street where he threatened staff and demanded cash.
The teenager stole a quantity of money before fleeing from the store. The youth was charged with Armed Robbery and will appear in the Kalgoorlie Children’s Court on Tuesday 18 October, 2011.
Investigators from the Regional Investigation Unit are calling for public help in their investigation into a recent robbery in the Perth CBD.
At about 11.40 PM on Friday 29 September 2011 three men entered the Club X store in Barrack Street, Perth.
One of the men threatened the staff member with a screw driver and then assaulted her before all three searched the premises and removed a quantity of cash.
Yesterday afternoon Broome Detectives charged a 27 year old man with robbery. He will appear in the Broome Magistrates Court today.
It will be alleged that the robbery was committed at about 3.45 pm on Friday 7 October 2011, at Macca’s Takeaway Store, in Broome. Two staff members were assaulted during the robbery and a small amount of money taken from the till.
A female who was with the man at the time has not been charged.
Rockingham Detectives are investigating a shooting incident that occurred in the car park of the Marri Park Tavern, located at Marri Park Drive Casuarina on Friday 23 September 2011.
Between 7.15 pm and 7.30 pm two groups of men were inside the Marri Park Tavern. One group consisted of two men, both in black jackets. The second group consisted of three men wearing fluoro yellow high visibility shirts.
One man from each group became involved in a verbal disagreement which developed into a physical altercation and as a result all five men were ejected from the premises by tavern management.
Soon after being ejected one of the men in a black jacket brandished a handgun which had been concealed in his clothing. The male fired a number of shots towards the man in the fluoro shirt whom he earlier had an altercation, with the shots missing the man.
The second man in a black jacket also brandished a handgun and pointed it to towards another of the men. The man then assaulted the victim, hitting him across the head with the gun. The victim required a number of stitches above his eye and to his ear.
The two men with the firearms left the scene in a vehicle similar to a 1980s model white Land Cruiser and travelled towards Thomas Road.
The offenders are described as:
Light skinned approximately 30years, 185cm tall, 90-100kg, short black hair, neat goatee, tattoos on neck and hands, with an Australian accent. At the time was wearing a black chunky or leather style jacket.
Light skinned approximately 30years, 178 – 183cm tall, slim build, bald, scarred face similar to acne scarring, no facial hair, with an Australian accent. At the time was wearing a black chunky or leather style jacket.
Broome Detectives investigating the Robbery and Sexual Assault of a 22 year old woman in Broome have charged an 18 year old male and an 18 year old female, both from Broome with several offences.
Police will allege that after leaving a hotel in Broome in the early hours of Wednesday 28 September the victim was confronted by a group consisting of one female and four males and that she was assaulted and her handbag stolen.
When she followed the group asking for the return of her bag she was again assaulted and sexually assaulted in a park area.
The two persons were each charged with Aggravated Robbery and 3 x Aggravated Sexual Penetration Without Consent and appeared in Broome Magistrates Court this morning.
They were remanded in custody to appear again 7 October 2011.
Detectives are continuing their inquiries in an effort to locate other persons they believe can assist with their inquiries.
Regional Investigations Unit is investigating an armed robbery at a pharmacy in Alexander Heights on 3 September.
At around 8pm, a man entered the Pharmacy World store situated on Greenpark Road in Alexander Heights.
His face was covered with a balaclava and carrying a pepper spray and knife, he approached staff behind the counter and demanded money and drugs.
He obtained an amount of cash and medication, and left the area in an unknown direction on a scooter.
The man is described as being fair skinned, around 170cm tall, with a medium build. He was wearing dark blue jeans and a long black sleeved jumper.
Kensington Detectives have arrested three juveniles in relation to the robbery of a 60 year old employee in the Burswood Entertainment Complex staff car park on Saturday, 17 September 2011.
It will be alleged that the woman parked her car at about 2.40am. When she got out she was approached by three young people, one of whom who punched her in the face. The woman fell to the ground, still holding her handbag and umbrella. She was then kicked in the face and had her handbag stolen.

Regional Investigations Unit officers are seeking to identify a woman who was seen during two armed robberies at chemists in Kelmscott and Forrestfield during the past few days.
The first occurred at around 3.10pm on Sunday 18 September. A woman entered the Pharmacy Plus Chemist at the Stargate Shopping Centre on Albany Highway Kelmscott and approached the staff member at the counter.
She then was directed to the pharmacist, bfore threatening him with a knife. She was given an amount of Oxycontin before leaving the premises. The woman was seen to enter a black coloured small four wheel drive which headed south along Albany Highway.
The second incident occurred today at around 11am.
A woman entered the Forrestfield Pharmacy in Hale Road in Forrestfield and approached the dispensary counter.
She asked to speak to the pharmacist, before removing a knife from her handbag, and demanding Oxycontin. She was given an amount of the drug before calmly walking out of the store.
The woman is described as being fair skinned, in her 40s, 160cm tall, with curly red/brown shoulder length hair. In the second robbery, she was wearing black track suit pants with two thin white stripes down the side, and a black track suit top with New York written across the front.

At around 11.50am, a man entered the Chemmart Chemist on Tribute Street in Shelley and approached the counter. He produced a small edged weapon, and demanded a quantity of drugs from the female staff member.
The staff member opened the safe and as he was removing medication, she ran from the store leaving him alone in the chemist.
Around a minute later, he left the store with an amount of drugs and is believed to have driven off in a white Ford Falcon.
He is described as being from 16-20 years old, around 180cm tall, with a slim build, shoulder length straight light brown/blond hair. He was wearing a black jacket (perhaps leather or similar) with a hood, dark blue jeans, a red shirt and dark shoes.
The Ford Falcon is described as being a mid to late 1990 sedan, with black wing mirrors.
The driver’s side wing mirror was also being held on by green electrical tape.
