Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to an attempted armed robbery in Kelmscott on 21 August 2003.
About 4:45am a man parked a Ford Fairmont sedan at the Shell Service Station on Albany Highway, Kelmscott and approached a staff member who was standing outside. He was
wearing a balaclava and was armed with an axe.
It will be alleged the man raised the axe and demanded cash from the staff member. The two men wrestled and the staff member fell to the ground, where it will be alleged he was kicked
a number of times and punched.
The man fled on foot, leaving behind the vehicle he had driven there in, and which was later identified as a stolen vehicle. The vehicle and items of interest within the vehicle were seized
for forensic examination.
Based on a DNA match to a sample taken recently in a separate investigation, Regional Investigations Unit detectives travelled to Gnowangerup and with the assistance of
Gnowangerup Police arrested a 32 year old man yesterday. The man has since been charged with Steal Motor Vehicle and Attempted Aggravated Armed Robbery, and will
appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court today, Tuesday 13 November 2012.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a third person in relation to an armed robbery offence in Port Kennedy on Wednesday 7 June 2012.
About 12:00am four people entered the store on Fielden Way and approached the counter. It will be alleged two of the people in the group were armed with hammers, and a staff
member at the store was assaulted with both weapons, receiving head and shoulder injuries. The staff member was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment to his injuries.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives arrested a 19 year old man (age is at time of incident and arrest) on Wednesday 4 July 2012 and charged him with Aggravated Armed Robbery.
An 18 year old man (age is at time of incident and arrest) was charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery by Regional Investigations Unit detectives on Friday 6 July 2012 after he
was identified as a passenger in a vehicle that had been stopped by the Traffic Enforcement Group.
A third person of interest to the investigation was located by Regional Investigations Unit detectives yesterday, Wednesday 7 November 2012, after he returned to Australia from New
Zealand a few days earlier. The 17 year old boy from Leda, who was 16 years old at the time of the incident, has been charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery and will appear in the
Perth Children’s Court today, Thursday 8 November 2012. Inquiries are continuing.
South West Detectives are seeking the public’s assistance in their investigation into an armed robbery in Withers last night, Tuesday 6 November 2012.
At about 8:50pm, three men entered the Chicken Treat store located at the Minninup Forum shopping centre.
Their heads were covered by hooded tops and their faces covered with balaclavas or bandanas. Two of the offenders were armed with knives and they threatened staff,
demanding money. The third offender guarded the front door. The offenders stole a sum of cash from the till before running from the store in the direction of
Hudson Road. The offenders are described as being aged between 20 and 30 with fair skin. One offender was tall with a slim build while the other two were shorter and of medium to solid build.
Kensington Detectives are seeking to identify four people who can assist in their inquiries into an aggravated robbery on a 29 year old male taxi driver on 10 October 2012. At around 9.30pm, the man’s taxi had broken down on the roundabout on Bolton Avenue Burswood, leading to the main entrance of the Crown Casino. He alighted from his car, before being approached by two males and two females. Three of the people then rummaged through his taxi and stole a number of the driver’s personal items. He was then struck over the head with a glass bottle, causing
him serious injury. As a result, he required staples to the top of his head and stitches to his left eye. Police are seeking to speak to the four people who are pictured to assist them with their inquiries into this matter. The three females are described as being dark skinned, aged around 16 years old, 160cm tall and of a slim build. One of the males is also described as being dark skinned, and of a slim build. He was also wearing a distinctive ‘Lakers’ baseball cap.
Detectives are investigating a robbery that occurred at the KFC store in Beach Road,
Warwick at 6.36pm on Monday 8 October 2012.
A male person, shown in the image, approached the drive-through service window on foot.
He spoke to the victim, a 19 year old Warwick man, who was working inside the window.
After some conversation, he became aggressive.
As the victim turned and opened the cash register, the man pushed him away, leant through
the window and grabbed a quantity of cash from the register.
He then ran east across the car park and out of sight.
He is described as 24 to 30 years of age, 185 to 190 cm tall, dark complexion, medium build.
He was wearing a black suit with 3 white stripes and the Adidas symbol on the front.

armed robbery on Friday 21 September 2012.
At around 8:10pm, a man armed with a knife entered a liquor store on Pratt Road Eaton. He
threatened a female staff member, demanding money.
The man was given an amount of cash and he walked from the store.
The offender is described as being between 35 and
40 years of age, approximately 165cms tall with an
olive complexion and of medium build. He spoke with
an Australian accent.
He was wearing black pants, a black hooded jumper
and a black beanie and sunglasses.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information regarding an armed robbery in Sorrento on Wednesday 15 August 2012.
About 1:40am a man entered the service station armed with a knife and approached the service counter. The service station attendant was threatened as money was demanded.
The staff member fearing for his safety complied with the demands and the offender left the service station with an amount of money.
The offender is described as dark skinned, 170 – 165cm tall, of solid build with short cropped dark hair. He was wearing a dark jacket and blue shorts.
Police believe the man pictured below may be able to assist with the investigation.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives are seeking information regarding three incidents at banks in Northbridge and Perth in the last two weeks.
Incident One: About 2:20pm on Wednesday 15 August 2012 a man entered a bank on James Street, Northbridge and walked up to the counter. The man handed over a note demanding money and threatening the safety of persons in the bank. He left with an amount of cash.
Incident Two: About 2:00pm on Friday 24 August 2012 a man entered a bank on St Georges Terrace, Perth and walked up to the counter. The man handed over a note demanding money and threatening persons in the bank. The man also made reference to a firearm. He left the bank empty handed.
Incident Three: About 1:00pm yesterday, Tuesday 28 August 2012 a man entered a bank on Murray Street, Perth and walked up to the counter. The man handed over a note demanding money. He left with an amount of cash. It is believed the three incidents may be linked.
The offender is described as fair skinned, 170 – 175cm tall, of solid to fat build, unshaven with short mousy brown hair. He was wearing dark jeans and a black hooded jumper.
It is believed the person pictured below may be able to assist police with the investigation.
Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a 23 year old man after several armed incidents overnight.
It will be alleged at 6.50pm, the man attended the Yangebup Shopping Centre armed with a black handgun. He approached a 31 year old woman sitting in her car and banged on the
window with the gun, she drove off and contacted police. He then approached a 36 year old woman who was sitting in her car. He opened the car
door waving the gun at her and telling her to get out. She refused as her child was in the car and as the man moved around the car towards the passenger side she drove off.
The offender then pointed the gun at a 58 year old man who was walking through the car park, telling him to keep on walking.
The offender then approached a 43 year old man sitting in his car and threatened him with the gun. The victim gave him his keys to his Toyota Echo and the offender fled in the car.
He drove to a video store located on Canning Highway Applecross. He threatened the female staff member, firing a blank round into the ceiling before stealing the till and fleeing in the
stolen car. A short time later he drove to a liquor store located on Canning Hwy Palmyra where he threatened a female staff member with the gun, demanding money. He was given some
money before he fled in the stolen car. Regional Investigations Unit detectives spotted him driving west along Canning Highway in
Palmyra. He was stopped on Fothergill Street Fremantle with the assistance of Fremantle Police, Murdoch Detectives and the South Metropolitan District Crime Team.
He has been charged with three counts of Armed Robbery; two counts of Attempted Armed Robbery and one count of Possess a Controlled Weapon with Intent to Cause Fear.
He will appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today.
Regional Investigations Unit officers have charged a 25 year old Nollamara man over an attempted armed robbery at a Perth bank today.
It will be alleged that at around 10.30am, the man entered the bank on St Georges Terrace Perth and threatened the female teller for money.
When he was refused, he grabbed another female employee and threatened her with a pen as held it against her neck. He again demanded money and made threats against the
woman. He then released the woman and left the premises. A short time later the man was arrested by Perth Police. He has been charged with Attempted Aggravated Armed Robbery and Threats to Kill and will appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on 29 August 2012.
