Police are appealing to the public for information after an alleged robbery at Nowra in the state’s south.
About 5.30pm (Sunday 24 July 2011), a 15-year-old employee of a business on Kinghorne Street was working at the front counter of the store.
It is alleged a man approached him and demanded the cash register be opened. The employee went into a back office and police were contacted.
Police will allege the man then entered the back office where the employee was and took a set of keys from him.
He then allegedly accessed the cash register and stole an amount of cash.
A second man waited outside the store as this took place. They then left together and were last seen running east on Kinghorne Street.
The man who entered the store has been described as 17-18 years of age, of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, of solid build, with black curly hair and facial hair. He was wearing a cap.
Police from Shoalhaven Local Area Command arrived shortly after and spoke to the employee. They are now investigating the incident.
Anyone with any information about the alleged robbery or who may know the identity of the two men is urged to contact Nowra Police via Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
