Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Mt Gravatt East overnight in which an employee was threatened with a metal pole.

Around 10.40pm, a man entered the store on the corner of Creek and Pine Mountain Roads and threatened the 35-year-old female employee before fleeing with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

The man was last seen exiting the shopping complex onto Pine Mountain Road driving a white vehicle.

He is described as approximately 165cm tall, 25 to 30 years of age, slimly built, and of Caucasian appearance. He was wearing jeans and a white jumper at the time with a dark fabric item covering his head.

No one was physically injured during this incident.
