Police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred last night in the state’s north.

 About 9pm (Tuesday 18 October 2011), a man entered a take away store on Philip Street, Pottsville, and assaulted a male employee before demanding cash from a female employee.

The man threatened staff with a knife, before obtaining an amount of cash and running from the location with another man who had been waiting outside.

 The 23-year-old male employee suffered minor injuries as a result of the assault. A 31-year-old female staff member was uninjured.

Police from Tweed Byron Local Area Command attended the scene and conducted inquiries.

 Detectives would like to speak to two men they believe may be able to assist with inquiries.

 The first man is described as having a muscular/solid build and being about 187cm tall.

 The second man is described as being of large build and about 170cm tall.

 Both men were wearing blue coloured clothing, balaclavas and gloves at the time of the incident.
