Holden Hill police are invesitgating a terrifying incident for staff at the McDonald’s at Para Hills overnight, after an attempt robbery and a gunshot fired through a restaurant window.
Just before midnight, two men, one armed with a rifle, walked into the dining room of the McDonald’s on Bridge Road at Para Hills threatened staff and demanded money from the till.
When the manager refused, the suspects left empty handed, but once outside the offender carrying the rifle, fired a shot into a restaurant window penetrating the window and hitting a drink machine.
There were no injuries to staff members and no customers inside the restaurant at the time of the incident. Police dogs patrols did a search of the area, but it’s believed the suspects fled in a car left in nearby Somerset Road.
