October 21, 2011 – Armed Robbery – Walter Street – Lowood

Police have charged a 19-year-old man after an armed robbery at Lowood earlier this morning.

Around 1.45am it is alleged a woman was walking near a shop on Walter Street when she was approached by man carrying a piece of wood or similar.

The man allegedly made demands, grabbed the woman’s handbag and fled the scene.

Police later attended an address in Lowood and arrested a man. He has been charged with one count of armed robbery and is due to face Ipswich Magistrates Court today.
