Police are investigating an armed robbery at a business in Alicia Street at Southport last night.
Initial investigations suggest that two men entered the convenience store at around 8pm. One man was armed with a small axe type implement and the other had man appeared to have an object in his hand. The men demanded money from the female store attendant.
The employee was threatened but not injured and the two men fled on foot after stealing cash and cigarettes.
The first man is described as a male around 5’6” tall, slim build wearing a black jumper, a black beanie with a black balaclava covering his face.
The second man is described as being under 5’ tall, small build wearing a black jumper, black beanie with a black balaclava covering his face.
The men were last seen running out of the store and it is believed to they then left in a vehicle nearby. Investigations are continuing.
